... i grew up with margarine -whatever brand on sale; hungry jack potatoes; minute-rice; store-brand frozen vegetables; non-fat dry milk mixed in the whole milk (to save money) ... but my mother insisted on hellmann's "real" mayonnaise.

the vegenaise is "vegetarian" so one wouldn't expect much but it's excellent and seems to "go farther"; and it keeps a long long time.

i'm not a vegetarian, but i eat a "vegan diet" much more often than not. i have fish 1-2X/week; eggs 1-2X/week;
a little cheese and butter; cream in coffee once/week or 2.
i'd call it moderation but really it's an evolved discipline. it's what works for me.
