Had news yesterday that my neighborhood hardware store proprietor died from the pandemic virus. The first person I know. Shop closed. A narrow little shop, he always would explain tools or parts patiently. Mom & pop shops are important, almost like friends. Sad. RIP.

@TDK0 I am sorry. Even tougher when COVID becomes no longer abstract. A friend died in April and her last message to me was "Pray for a miracle that I live. I have COVID." We both worked part time in a long term care facility where she contracted COVID. I stopped working there a couple years ago and am thankful.

Recently heard some old Clifford's Louisville Jug Band from the '20s; recordings with some jazz players. Interesting how that old jug-blues-folk fit well with the early jazz.
