Aww shucks. Thanks, Fragonard. I liked doing the Weekly Cheese Report, but Ken didn’t want something so narrowly-focused or whatever. Clay and I have been trying to figure out something else for me, but nothing else really grabs me. I’ve had a really chaotic 16+ months so I don’t have the bandwidth to learn something else enough to do a weekly segment on it.

I took my mom to see Tony Bennett a few years ago (because I'm a good son). It was like going to geriatric Lourdes but great, too. Tony was, um, fantabulous! I asked my mother if she'd ever seen Tony Bennett and she said something like, "Yeah, in like ''49 or '51, he was on the Christmas show at the Roxy--he was way down the bill, still an up and comer, but I never forgot him because he was from Astoria" (where she grew up). It was like 60+ years between the times she saw him live. Pretty crazy. If only he'd done "Everybody's Talkin'" . . .
