Hey Jeff! You’re Upstate now, right? Here in NYC yesterday was crazy, but the protests today across the city have been peaceful with the only tension really being endless police presence.

hi ParUbi
  10:23pm
JakeGould:

And for anyone talking about “riots” and “looting” I just want to add this food for thought: Usually at all of these protests in the past, this alt-right counter protest thing happens. Two groups clash; protestors and alt-right thugs.

At utterly none of the current protests have I heard of that happening. Meaning, I believe the alt-right is taking on a new tactic: Mix in with the protestors and then cause damage and riot so the protesters get blamed. Classic “agent provocateur” stuff.

There’s no other reason I can think about many of these protests blowing up this bad this quickly as well as the absence of alt-right opposition.

Anyway good thoughts and good vibes.

Avatar 10:27pm
northguineahills:

@Jake: Some tweets from the alt-right and freeperville seem seem to confirm that hypothesis. (in the days leading up to the protest)
  10:27pm
JakeGould:

FWIW, the “looting” in SoHo that has been reported is all bullshit. Yes, storefronts were smashed but not all of them. And the vast majority of stores in SoHo are shut down 100% because they are non-essential business.

So you see these reports of the Adidas store being “looted” and all that was taken were window display junk.

Anyway, lives are more important than property. And if the tone changed so suddenly in NYC in the past 24 hours (less than even) it points to the core protestors never being the problem.

RIP George Floyd.

I don't know about all of the expanded versions, but I have one on vinyl that dropped a couple of years ago which is one of the shows in it's entirety.
