It could be worse, Joe... One of the residents in my building screams on the sidewalk under my window before 8 many mornings. There's no taking her to the shop.

Are you aware that audible car alarms are now thankfully illegal in NYC? Worse sound ever my wife is mad now and i have to change the radio station.. sorry! Cinder block thru the windshield was always a fantasy of mine but I have left some angry notes /threats and that neighbor has since fixed /deleted the alarm.
Notes to the effect of ; "The police will notified & they will write a ticket ." usually works.

Joe - I approve of sonic warfare as revenge. There was one town I lived in that was full of subliterate hippie stoner college bozos. These jabronis who lived across the street from me would blast Bob Marley or Dr Dre out of nowhere on a Tuesday morning at 1 am. I had a fantasy of rigging up speakers outside of their bedroom windows and at 7 am blasting Throbbing Gristle or Wold Eyes at top volume.

Dang! I missed the car alarm song. I miss those things. I feel nowadays people playing all kinds of sounds/music on their smartphones and Bluetooth speakers is a worse noise problem in NYC.
