Kind of like taking your parents record collection and getting drunk in a Radio Shack. Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Garage Punk, Regular Punk and Old-Fashioned Weirdos. Hopefully you have the patience for this fast-paced sonic impatience. Not recommended for the fan of 4 minute songs.

Hi FAB!

That lobster joke was from a record called "RALPH TELLS DIRTY JOKES". Super home made LP and that was the cleanest track on the whole disc. He has terrible timing and sometimes even starts jokes over..

Tuned in! :-)

That sounds amazing. Oh man, now I want to hear Ralphs’ dirty ones...

FAB-I've been thinking of posting the entire LP on youtube, but its really hard to part with as I'm sure I'll never see it again in the wild.
Avatar 2:16pm
Mr Fab:

You could post it, but still keep it? Does YouTube have laws that i dont know about?
Avatar 2:18pm
recordrouletteclub:

Sorry- that came out wrong. I'll keep it and share it with the world.
Avatar 2:19pm
recordrouletteclub:

When you post to youtube, the LP will be sucked down a series of tubes to the center of the Internet.

^it's true! It's happened to me.

It all eventually ends up on Mr. Weird and Wacky so you can get it again. ;)

What's Mr. W &W?
Avatar 2:23pm
Mr Fab:

Ha, yeah.

It just sounds like such a weird record - is there much “outsider comedy”?

A super prolific mp3 blogger.
Avatar 2:24pm
recordrouletteclub:

I bet it would be well-received in the comedy scene!

Rich-OH, OK! Sounds like something I should check out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm
Rich in Washington:

I remember running across Unkie Dunkie on either the WFMU blog or 365 Days Project (or both). It's easily the WORST comedy record I have ever heard.
Avatar 2:25pm
Mr Fab:

I offered Mr W&W a show here, actually. I download so much from him, figured he might as well have his own show.
  2:26pm
ARB:

Has anyone checked out the video of this song? The troll on piano blows my mind!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm
Rich in Washington:

It's so bad, once Patton Oswalt said something about twitter about bad comedy albums and I replied with the link to Unkie and he replied with OH MY GOD! <bows>
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm
Rich in Washington:

Did he respond? Curious.
Avatar 2:30pm
Mr Fab:

Mr w and w said:”usually i have no problem turning things down, but this time it is difficult to say no.” He is a WFMU fan, but dont think he would have the time to do a regular show.
Avatar 2:31pm
Mr Fab:

The video to which song, ARB? The Perez Prado?
  2:32pm
ARB:

Yeah guaglione, check it out
Avatar 2:45pm
Mr Fab:

No doubt due to its religious nature, but obscuro private-press gospel records dont seem to be a hot collectible.
Avatar 2:45pm
ARB:

wow, this song is holy!
Avatar 2:46pm
recordrouletteclub:

FAB-Its too bad. There's some real gems out there.
Oh well, makes them more affordable for me I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm

I bought a bunch of minty Little Marcy records yesterday while Goodwilling. Unfortunately my wife was with me and she was sort of flummoxed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
Rich in Washington:

I mean, she knows I horde stupid records, but she rarely witnesses me actually doing it.
Avatar 2:50pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah gospel records are a bargain now, until some Nuggets of Gospel comes out and sets off a feeding frenzy! Jason Elbogen plays a lot on his Friday morning show here.
Avatar 2:51pm
ARB:

Nun Plus is pretty collectible and so is Sister Irene O'Conner
Avatar 2:51pm
ARB:

but of course there's a whole world of less coveted ones...
Avatar 2:53pm
ARB:

the big a = the big m is one of my favorites, though it's not gospel per say, it's creepy and relgious
Avatar 2:54pm
ARB:

hello to you and Minneapolis, my chosen home town
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm
Rich in Washington:

I am less likely to take a chance on weird small run gospel records unless I'm sure of some sign of sonic weirdness. It's not like the old days where records like that were 25 cents, a quarter, even a dollar. And I rarely buy the wacky covers ones unless they're truly weird.
Avatar 2:55pm
recordrouletteclub:

ARB-Really?
Avatar 2:56pm
ARB:

yes, i lived there for most of 2003-2014, i have more friends & family there than my true home town
Avatar 2:56pm
recordrouletteclub:

RICH- I hear ya on that one. MOST of it is risky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh I have that one! It's one of my secret weapons! Truly vile!
I hear Gary S. Paxton had an affair with Tammy Faye Baker! He also helped bring Alley Oop to life, so his proximity to Kim Fowley makes him pretty dang peculiar.
Avatar 2:56pm
ARB:

We went to a huge Goodwill in Portland which has a gigantic record bin. I forgot how much better the pickin's are there versus the GWs in my little cowtown. I need to do that more often. I found some cool stuff.

I sent that Big A record to Darryl a few months ago. I think he featured it on his show and blog. It's just wonderfully awful. Mine's on blood red vinyl.

THANKS EVERYBUDDY!!
Avatar 2:59pm
ARB:

@Rich, the bins in Portland are pretty vicious, i used to go when i lived there, somehow in Los Angeles everyone is kind and sharing at the bins. St Paul bins have the least manners I've ever seen which really puts to question "Minnesota Nice"
