Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am
Jan Turkenburg:

I hear BC is doing his pre-flight check :-)
  11:52am
NowhereBoy91:

I just finished recording the latest You Can Sample, actually. going to package them both up for my friend who has been trying to use samples in their music more lately.
Avatar 11:52am
Otis Fodder:

Hey hey, enjoying Sunday a lot. Easy on the work schedule for sure.
Avatar 11:54am
Otis Fodder:

That's great! I'd love to hear what your friend comes up with, as I'm sure a few other DJs here would as well who like to play sampled stuff. Please ask if your pal will share after with us.
  11:57am
NowhereBoy91:

Oh yeah? I will definitely try. They've been in a bit of a musical rut lately and I think some of the samples are just so excellent, that they're bound to be inspired somehow.

Lost Media will be a little late.. working to resolve

In the right rendition 'having a wonderfull' is ok though. I just finished a local radio show where a schlager singer sang that live and with my joining in half-tonally on flute. ah... you must have been there ;)
Avatar 12:33pm
Mr Fab:

Now THAT sounds wonderful indeed!
  12:34pm
Martinibomb:

I'm going to write about routing audio for our new DJ guide @Mr Fab that is the hardest thing to explain..
  12:35pm
Martinibomb:

animated explainer video maybe? then I could show the issue easier
Avatar 12:36pm
Mr Fab:

That would be great, whatever you think you can do. Thunderous round of applause for Martinibomb, showing the ropes to our rookie DJ!
Avatar 12:38pm

yes @martinibomb I'm clapping for you so hard i feel like a trained seal

Hi. Listening along. Is there a playlist entry missing after Ghost of the Turkey before this dictation letter to xmas thingy?
Avatar 12:39pm
Otis Fodder:

Jan - Missed that show, but that is one of the xmas songs I run for cover with. Maybe with flute or an industrial sander, it might improve to my ears.
Avatar 12:41pm
ARB:

Simply Having is the one that tips me over the edge
Avatar 12:42pm
ARB:

but I just haven't heard an adequate rendition yet...
Avatar 12:42pm
Mr Fab:

WR: probably. But this is BC's first show here, he's still learning the system, so don't know if he'll be able to go back and update it til later.
Avatar 12:42pm
Otis Fodder:

Here too. Maybe if Wesley Willis covered it or The Shaggs, that would work!
Avatar 12:43pm
ARB:

ooooh this one! this is doing it
Avatar 12:44pm
ARB:

@otis Wesley would do it right
Avatar 12:45pm
Otis Fodder:

... and at the end there could be a plug for a few Sheena Shows. Wesley would have rocked it!

Avatar 12:47pm
ARB:

Avatar 12:47pm
Mr Fab:

just put on any karaoke track, and start shouting out Wesley-isms.

Avatar 12:48pm

hey BC!! I have this Crafty Ladies record, actually.
Avatar 12:49pm
Otis Fodder:

You do Mr Fab! On Vinyl. That rocks!
Avatar 12:51pm
Mr Fab:

Yep, found it at Amoeba years ago. Posted it on my old blog, where I wrote: "it doesn't get much better than this 11 minute, 7 song 7" recorded by the participants in the arts program of the San Francisco Recreation Center for the Handicapped. The musical backing seems pretty professionally played, in contrast to the vocals of the handicapped folks. It kicks off with a version of "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer" scored for xylophone and
sad horn - very evocative combination. "
  12:51pm
Martinibomb:

@Arb what song did he do?
Avatar 12:53pm
ARB:

Rock and Roll McDonalds
i was horrified, seems like it could be good in theory but i guess only wesley should do wesley willis songs
Avatar 12:54pm
ARB:

maybe the space lady could pull it off
Avatar 12:55pm
ARB:

can we ask her?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Otis en ARB, yes the singer in question threw me completely off guard, or how do you say that, when he started singing that at the end of the show, after I asked him: can you just sing one more Christmas song that everybody knows... LOL
Avatar 12:55pm
Mr Fab:

That's pretty brave on a date. Unless you'd been together for a while at that point and he thought he could finally start getting a little freaky.
Avatar 12:56pm
ARB:

Yeah points for courage at least, but I never saw him again
Avatar 12:57pm
BC Sterrett:

Ok, hour is about up. Talk about baptism by fire, flying by the seat of my pants last minute when things wouldn't work. Wasn't the actual show I prepared, but it was something :)
Avatar 12:58pm
Mr Fab:

It was great! Leave 'em wanting more, right? You're even adding pics to the playlist, very ambitious for a first show.
