A language that was cobbled from old Romani, soem Yiddish, old theatre speak ... adopted by the gay underground in the UK during the times when homosexuality was criminalised. Hence the need for a secret language.
"Round the Horne" which was broadcast before homosexuality was decriminalised was VERY daring with its inclusion of Polari.
