I was lucky to know the back way there. I took Rt 97 from port jervis to barryville took a right on rt 55 to 17 just before the end i took a left ( don't remember the road ) came out just above Hurd road stashed my car NO ONE KNEW THAT RD !! I walked about a mile to the site and rest was history as they say and got out Monday morn with no traffic

I have a friend who had a wonderful time at Woodstock, but when he first got there, early, was put to work in a rowboat, telling naked folks to get out of a pond, as locals who lived by the pond were upset. He was embarrassed to be asking naked hippies to leave the pond. hee.

We just worked at Boomtown festival. It’s a make-believe city in a field. There’s a whole interactive maze to complete and the story of the city develops every year. Most of the buildings are venues and the stages are sets. I was thinking how things have changed since Woodstock, but so good that there’s a strong festival culture now.

It’s disturbing that attractions, industry and shipping progress in the Hudson valley without any consideration for you to transport all the bodies. Improvised train and bus services would be fantastic

..the best fest I ever went to was small, maybe 600 people, the John Henry folk fest in West Virginia. Mostly African American musicians, also white Appalachians too.

I'm not a big fest or concert-goer, the only festival I attended was the Kerrville Folk Festival in TX, and it was quite manageable, no giant throngs of people. Oh and there was a folk fest on the lakes of Lake Champlain in VT, also pleasant but kind of stuffy, no drinking allowed outside the booze corral.
