I have been obsessed with Bappi Lahiri since I first heard Bombay Disco cd on WFMU. After a couple of years I’m a birthday party at my sons friends house. It was a multi generational Indian family. I’m an artist so The father and bro in law bring me to the basement to see a drawing he was working on ( as a hobby) and I see a keyboard set up. So I tell him that I’m really into music, Indiana classical, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s Bollywood and anything related to Bappi Lahiri. Well this guy and his brother in law start screaming to each other “oh my he knows Bappi Lahiri, he knows Bappi Lahiri! They were ridiculously excited.

Over two hours and almost two dozen songs, Streisand received a stunning 17 standing ovations — earning every single one — for an energetic show that included her biggest hits (“People” and “Evergreen”), some Broadway gems (from “Into the Woods” and “Funny Girl”) and even a little disco (the Donna Summer duet “Enough is Enough”), building to a powerful political crescendo.
