Hey, everyone! Grab some coffee and a slice of pie. Time for some Lake Wobegon and KPM goodness. :-)
Avatar 2:56pm
Otis Fodder:

I am here (high waisted), there (world's worst), and thankfully not, everywhere.

Wow! This track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I thought I'd start a little atonal this week ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm

Long live atonality!

That Alan Parker track was a gas - where's it from?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm
Rich in Washington:

I've been exploring alternate tunings and detunings on guitar. It's really helping me learn not learning the guitar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm

I just looked it up - Contemporary Guitar, KPM.

Garrison sounds like Dave. Or... Dave sounds like Garrison?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm
Rich in Washington:

I love the really left-field things on KPM. Like they just wanted to cover every possible base.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Me too - that whole explosion in music and styles changing seemingly every week and musicians churning stuff out :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Dave told me to pass on that he's not sure what books have ever done for him ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

"And now on BBC2"
  3:07pm
Martinibomb:

I think the left field comes from them not having to answer the recording industry like other artists who may want to appeal to radio etc.. these people are all bad ass musicians so KPM is incredible to me to just let them explore and do their thing. Thankful to that label for that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Lots of them were moonlighting in neighbouring Soho jazz clubs too so honing their skills.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
joe:

'ello folks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I was second row centre for Burt Bacharach last year and loved ever second of it. He's a legend. But the KPM Allstars gig just beat it for me. Genuinely. I felt so damn happy in the British Library.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hi Joe! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

This is one of the latest instalments of Lake Wobegon - "Pontoon". The first line about Evelyn being an insomniac made me spit my cofee out. I love Garrison Keillor. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I love that - "a child's crayon kind of day" :-)
Avatar 3:28pm
Mr Fab:

Weird, Garrison Keiler without all that "Americana" music. I'm imagining him in a nehru jacket and granny glasses or sumthin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Bwah-ha-ha - I have twisted the truth! ;-)
  3:34pm
Martinibomb:

ahh.. just finished writing a pep talk for the *other*radio station I'm on. It's our spring fundraiser.. just wrote up a funny pep talk for the troops to help keep morale up.
Avatar 3:34pm
Mr Fab:

Now i want to record a parody. narrate it in my pseudo-Keiler impersonation: "It's been a quiet week here at Sheena's Jungle Room..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Yes!!! Please do it!!!
  3:35pm
Martinibomb:

get to kick back, paint and listen to music now. I haven't even listened to the mix for my show yet today.
  3:35pm
