zenkoan:

This music is certainly rapturous so far
  12:25am
Dean:

Today wasn't the rapture. It was the resurrection, the day when we *should* listen attentively to Handel's Messiah, which has so little to do with Christmas. Oh, well, we Americans are shitty Christians.

It was such a long winter. I have been desperate for a good night-time Spring/Summer storm. It's supposed to rain all night. Just what the Dr. ordered. And the set so far has been as well.
  12:35am
Dean:

I won't apologize for admiring Handel's Messiah. Sure, it's overplayed in stupid contexts, but it's one of the greats.

Man, I remember Kebnekaise...one of their albums...listened to it quite a bit in the '70s, '80s...

I must offer props to maestro Jeff for some seamless segueing here. I didn't notice when one song finished and the next begun, until I checked the playlist...

Greetings from Smithville, NJ. I love the Dead sets and info you provide. I was a freshman in college at Stockton State here in NJ in 1978 when I got immersed with Dead music and culture. A lot of my friends went to the historic show in Englishtown, NJ in 77 and it changed their lives. I kind of hopped on board and went to a few shows. The last show was in DC and the boyz were great. I remember Wang Dang Doodle and a a very straightforward version of the Who's Baba O,Reilly. My friend Christian and his son 5 year old son Dylan took me. Dylan wrote a poem about the show and it was displayed in a popular Atlanta, GA paper. Magic indeed. (Dylan was in school near Atlanta and we RV'ed to DC} Thank you so much for your time and Deadication!
