	♥ 9:39am TDK60: ..was talking @ WNYU, am not familiar with WNYC. I do listen to WBGO once in a while. But it's about 85-90% FMU for me.
	♥ 9:42am Jeff Golick: When I commute to Long Island, from Brooklyn, by car, I listen to the WFMU fm signal for as long as possible, lose it in outer Queens, then shift over to KCR or NYC, which have stronger signals. When I think of it, I start listening to FMU via app, but my cassette radio aux converter is not working, so it's just the phone speaker.
	♥ 9:43am TDK60: NYU a college station sharing the 89.1 FM signal with WFDU. Oh! and, being a lefty, I do listen to WBAI some too; but back to Drummer Radio here...

	🦀 ♥ 9:44am doctorjazz: Ahh, I see, it used to be a radio station that only broadcast near NYU, they boosted the signal some 10+ years ago. Brooklyn College had a radio station like that when I was there.. You could hear it in a radius of a few blocks near the college .

I've taken a couple drafting classes in my time, and I originally prepared to go to architecture school, until I realized I have no talent for visualization. Realized I really wanted to be an architectural historian, which I'm not.

I've taken a couple potty classes in my time, and I originally prepared to go to the bathroom, until I realized I have no talent for finding it. Realized I really wanted to be a scat historian, which I am.
	10:25am Listener Gregory: I bought them back in the 80s, Jeff, which is not an answer. But he did have a record contract and was able to regularly put out albums. They certainly were well received, so I think he did ok. Not Kenny G level of course.

	10:31am Dean: Review of When Was That, Musician magazine (Oct. 1, 1982): "It's easily one of the strongest entries of the year, and the other day its distributor told me he expects it to do real well and sell about 3,000 copies..."

	10:35am Scraps: That was before RCA, the first real non-Air album... he was still slotted an avant-garde
	10:36am Listener Gregory: A lot of independent labels are printing only 500 CDs now, I believe. If it does do "real well," they run out.

	♥ 11:00am Jeff Golick: @LG: this discographical page for Threadgill [discography.backstrom.se... notes the following for these recordings (which are also up at youtube): On four clips from Hamburg, we see Henry conducting. The first clip finds Bob Stewart on tuba and Booker T. soloing on tenor sax. The right clip finds Ted Daniel soloing on trumpet and John Stubblefield on soprano sax. The third clip is dominated by Craig Harris' trombone, followed by Sherri Scott's and Drew Richards' singing. This duo continues on the fourth clip, followed by Jerome Harris on bass guitar and John Stubblefield's return, this time on tenor sax. Drummer (to the right) is Reggie Nicholson and I think the percussionist is Roberto Maldonado.

She thanks Ethan Iverson for "creative and intellectual support" in the acknowledgements which I just read during this show. A quick search of both their names led to a page on the same wordpress blog that contains the Threadgill interview you linked to. Cool confluence. The book is beautiful by the way.

When I think of it, I start listening to FMU via app, but my cassette radio aux converter is not working, so it's just the phone speaker.

The first clip finds Bob Stewart on tuba and Booker T. soloing on tenor sax. The right clip finds Ted Daniel soloing on trumpet and John Stubblefield on soprano sax. The third clip is dominated by Craig Harris' trombone, followed by Sherri Scott's and Drew Richards' singing. This duo continues on the fourth clip, followed by Jerome Harris on bass guitar and John Stubblefield's return, this time on tenor sax. Drummer (to the right) is Reggie Nicholson and I think the percussionist is Roberto Maldonado.
