The Model Train Engineers Society in Baltimore is closing after 87 years. They have filled an apartment with a miniature world with little houses and factories and streets and its really amazing! It feels like a somber and poetic example of a world that has harbored fear around fantasy and cannot accommodate the preservation of play.

It has never been my hobby either, but I stumbled upon it once and was enchanted by their passion, I dont think I totally understood it, but I felt like it was a good thing for the world. I hope to take some photographs when I visit their last open house on Sunday.
