Here we go again. Pray for me.

Mr Fab:

Spacebrothers and 'sisters! We are attempting this show again. Sheena was displeased last week and would not let it play all the way thru. Having performed all the ceremonial rituals and sacrifices, we should be good.
Avatar 6:59pm
spacebrother:

Thumbs-up emoji. Thank you Monsieur Fab.

I think Heinz was Joe Meeks' unrequited love? It's all his fault!

One of many.

Currently wrapping presents. I'm one def wrapper.
Avatar 7:09pm
spacebrother:

Everyone else must be out shopping.
Avatar 7:12pm
Mr Fab:

There were other attempts to create "ski rock," mostly in the surf style, but that was kinda Beatles-y. Never caught on. They couldn't figure out how to make a ski sound, I guess, like the reverb guitar suggests ocean waves.

Hello spacebrother! Hi Mr. Fab!
Avatar 7:13pm

I want my SKI ROCK!!

I tuned in just in time for the part we missed last time!

Please work this time. Please. Please.

I'm off on vacation so can't keep track of the days of the week.

Hey Rich!

I'm home this time. Not texting in the car.

My "little" friends?
Avatar 7:15pm
spacebrother:

I'm sure this stuff is getting through to all you little boys and girls.
Avatar 7:15pm
Mr Fab:

hey Rich!

The "You-niverse," heh.
Avatar 7:16pm
spacebrother:

YOU-NIGH-VERSE. Repeat.
Avatar 7:16pm
spacebrother:

IT WORKED!!!
Avatar 7:17pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, Porter!!

"So mote it be", weird, that's what Satanists say...

Hoof and horn, hoof and horn, all that dies shall be reborn!
It's a Solstice miracle!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
Rich in Washington:

That's a lovely Porter Wagoner song.
Avatar 7:19pm
spacebrother:

It's weird how the gif of Shatner sometimes looks like it's dancing to the music.
Avatar 7:21pm
spacebrother:

There's a fine line sometimes between irony and genuinely enjoying the music. The sweet spot is when both are working.
Avatar 7:21pm
Mr Fab:

This song has lyrics? By the Supremes!?!

They had some oddities in their catalog that you'll never hear on an oldies station "Motown Weekend": "Dr Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine," and the "Surfer Boy" are both in the Sheena stream. But I didn't know this one.
Avatar 7:22pm
spacebrother:

I need to hear those!
Avatar 7:23pm
spacebrother:

That song makes my throat hurt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh my god! Where'd you find this?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm
Rich in Washington:

When I was a little kid, I assumed Thurl Ravenscroft was a made-up name, since I had only seen it on the Haunted Mansion record I had. I just thought that was a fake, scary name.
Avatar 7:25pm
spacebrother:

I have no idea.
Avatar 7:26pm
spacebrother:

I thought the same thing about Ravenscroft. I almost wanted to change my name.
Avatar 7:28pm
spacebrother:

The Anna Boyle was online somewhere. i didn't know I'd have to source it for listeners anytime. Ever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm
Rich in Washington:

I've got quite a few finds like that. Especially in the dark days of the Uni server open dex period.
Avatar 7:30pm
Mr Fab:

Ha, wow. That "Girl of my Dreams" reminds me of the Gary Shandling joke about how he was such a bad singing student that he threw off the piano.

I think it's from the "Talent Show" album that Arf! Arf! Records put out:

Rich in Washington:

THIS is fantastic! Those self-released organ records. I'll bet this guy worked at a mall organ store!
Avatar 7:32pm
spacebrother:

That's it!
Avatar 7:33pm
spacebrother:

I'll read a bit about him from the liner notes in the break. He would never mention working at the mall, I bet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm
Rich in Washington:

I've had for years - and love - this one I have that's some woman who's a wiz on some similar Yamaha organ. I played a track from it a couple of weeks ago.
Avatar 7:34pm
spacebrother:

I'd like to hear that one. There's a whole subgenre there that should have its own collection.
Avatar 7:34pm
spacebrother:

The drums on this kick ass.
Avatar 7:35pm
spacebrother:

Maybe it's bongos.
Avatar 7:36pm
Mr Fab:

I meant to put together a DIY organ records comp for my old blog but never got around to it. Plenty have been added to the stream tho.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm
Rich in Washington:

That was wonderful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
Rich in Washington:

Wow! This is something!
Avatar 7:39pm
spacebrother:

I love covers. At this point though, "Powerhouse" is pretty much as standard.
Avatar 7:39pm
spacebrother:

Fab, you should still put one of those together. I'd buy it.
Avatar 7:40pm
spacebrother:

"a" standard
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm
Rich in Washington:

I also love this cheapie budget label record I have called Organ Freakout.
Avatar 7:42pm
spacebrother:

What's on that one? It a comp?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm
Rich in Washington:

It's just a bunch of early 60s rock combo music with an organ at forefront. It's full title is Organ Freakout: A Happening at the Mustang. It's pretty common as old weird records go. it sounds like low budget Mike Curb fake hippie music.
Avatar 7:45pm
spacebrother:

Those have a definite charm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm
Rich in Washington:

I meant mid-ish 60s. One of a genre of hippie cash-in records.
Avatar 7:47pm
Mr Fab:

Harmonica bands! A style that never came back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
Rich in Washington:

I thought I heard a hint of Shooby in there. I have this album, but I have somehow missed that!
Avatar 7:48pm
spacebrother:

Hippie Cash-In is being added to my list of band names.
Avatar 7:48pm
spacebrother:

Yeah, Shooby's in there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
Rich in Washington:

Turn on, cash in, and burn out!
Avatar 7:49pm
spacebrother:

They NEED to come back.
Avatar 7:49pm
spacebrother:

Shoob is at the end a little too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm
Rich in Washington:

I need to pull this out again! I played it a lot when it came out but plum near forgot completely about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
Rich in Washington:

Don-O and I did back-to-back Xmas shows and managed not to repeat anything on each other's shows!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm
Rich in Washington:

Wowsers, that's painful!
Avatar 7:54pm
spacebrother:

Wonderful pain.
Avatar 7:55pm
