Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

  Fri. 11/9/18 12:28pm Dean:

Yeah, I've been slow to pick up the Ayers stuff. They were ubiquitous in the glory days of the late '70s. I suppose the one consolation in waiting is the bonus track bonus.
  Fri. 11/9/18 12:29pm Dean:

But I bought Tubular Bells in '73.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 11/9/18 12:34pm listener james from westwood:

Snow's been sneaking around in the long-term forecast for the Tri-State Area but is currently off the menu. Thanksgiving is on the menu; nontraditional dinner with dad, possibly pot roast.

@Dean Un Homme et une Femme. That's 1968 for me.
  Fri. 11/9/18 12:38pm Dean:

I made a lasagna, decidedly not veggie, this past weekend, in lieu of making one for Thanksgiving, which I usually do. But this year we have different plans for T-day, heading to PDX. My biggest regret is that I'm too lazy to make my own pasta.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/18 12:39pm Brian in UK:

Dried pasta is fine but for lasagne.......
  Fri. 11/9/18 12:39pm steveL:

Franco: Let's hope it at least pays homage to the Sylvanianian miners drawn to the area. Their descendants filled me with greasy kielbasa and sweet wine.
  Fri. 11/9/18 12:39pm Dean:

That tune, Brian in UK, seems always to have been around.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/18 12:40pm Brian in UK:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 11/9/18 12:50pm joe:

@Parq you may be right liner notes only list her as vocals.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/18 12:52pm Parq:

I'm usually good at picking individual voices out of a chorus when I'm familiar with that voice -- it doesn't mean the person is singing too loud, it's just something I can do -- and I didn't hear Blossom's own voice in there.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/18 12:53pm Parq:

Good to hear from you, Joe. You two are living the proverbial Life of Riley from what I can see on your IG feed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 11/9/18 12:54pm joe:

Good theory re Blossom, UM. I did once hear her interviewed, and her speaking voice was what you would expect based on her singing voice, but that was pretty late in her career, so it doesn't have any real impact on your theory.

Last night I was doing some impromptu Steppin' Out with knee/leg slaps/pats -- out of nowhere; the music wasn't on or heard too recently. And I decided it should be done that way when included someday among the unlikely numbers I'd like to enlist co-conspirators for in nonstandard around-the-campfire numbers.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/18 1:09pm Parq:

Somewhere -- I had it on a cassette once, but I lost it -- there's a great Dixie Cups rendering of "Let It Snow" (speaking of seasonal music).
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 11/9/18 1:10pm listener james from westwood:

@Listener Scott, I'd have been all over that, both the song and theme.
We narrowly dodged having U2's "With or Without You" as our slow-dance song. It's . . . not a danceable song.
