Cooh John: thank Popeye Doyle (Gene Hackman) in The French Connection. INnrousting junkies at a bar, he repeatedly queries: Weren't you picking your toes in Po'keepsie? Sort of an earworm for me.

Hey Aaron Working in Newark, TDK60, Kevino.

Sem,i love that the "toes" reference is still somewhat obscure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00am

annie, I guess that's part of why I remember it so clearly. Never could de-code that, except that he was just ,essin' w/ those junkies' minds.

JD is correct, it's a hellova movie. jeffrey, there is a woman who lives in my building that fits your story. she is almost always scrunched up, carries her radio, and often enlists any number of people to help her get the tunes. it's a joy to see numerous transients, hip-hoppers, young people at her beck and call.. @kevino: your friends at metal and thread, have closed shop.... :(

Sequim! (Pronounced "skwim," for the record) That town, and the southern tip of Lopez Island, are the "dryest spots in Western WA." Attractive retirement areas. Newstled up against the bosom of Canada.
