I learned just recently that Soft Machine are uncredited players on a couple Syd Barrett tracks... No Good Trying may be one of them. Can't remember which ones for sure though because my brain's defective.

Scraps.:

It’s more complicated than that:

‘On the session for 3 May, three tracks on the album were overdubbed by Robert Wyatt, Hugh Hopper and Mike Ratledge, all members of the band Soft Machine:[16][20][29][32] The three songs were "Love You", (now dropping "It's") "No Good Trying",[32] and "Clowns and Jugglers".’

From a very long Wikipedia piece, about The Madcap Laughs, mostly on recording it.

BEAVO and Scraps, Interesting... I'm going to have to re-listen to the LP with that in mind. And maybe a crib sheet in hand.

The resource of internet is a common part of humanity
, when realizing the color map of the world, just know better. Facebook is a thing, but do you know better. The internet Cafés of the 90s are brought to the thinking of Mudd huts and ignorance, could it be?
