Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:03pm Rich in Washington:

I was thinking the same thing, steveo.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:03pm Matt from Springfield:

@Rob: Indeed!

@steveo: Don't you mean you wish - that - you had known the title of this song...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:07pm chris:

hi, Scott and (Spectre) folks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:07pm Matt from Springfield:

Oh WOW! This is the notorious Oar album, by the Moby Grape member who took a Syd Barrett turn. This was "the lowest-selling album in Columbia Records history". Doesn't sound too bad to me, this is a nice spaced-out jam.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:08pm Chris from DC:

Matt, it definitely has its moments.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:09pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Scott. I was just thinking, if Klown could play at next year's Garbecue, that would be pretty cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:10pm kimzilla:

I think Spacemen 3 were the most psychedelic and trippy experience I ever had at a concert. Good, and weird memories Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:12pm Scott Williams:

HP Ken: YES! Kimzilla: YES!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:14pm Matt from Springfield:

@Chris: I've been meaning to check out Oar, I'll have to listen to the whole thing at once (with maybe a pause for "side two").
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:15pm mrdonutsu:

Never got to see Spacement 3, but Spiritualized at their peak was pretty mind blowing. Their strobe lights made my friend Beth puke - on two different occasions!
  Mon. 7/9/18 4:17pm medson:

Good day Scott / Everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:18pm Scott Williams:

I never got to see Spacemen 3 together, but saw both Kember & Spaceman's other projects lots. The vibe, it was consistent, to say the least. And always amazing
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:19pm Scott Williams:

Oar is amazing, but pretty damaged. If you dig it, go for Mayo Thompson's "Corky's Debt to His Father", similar turf to my ears, albeit sane
  Mon. 7/9/18 4:19pm Spacecadet:

Spiritualized & Psychic Tv. in the day. Chrome & Acid Mothers Temple now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:23pm Rob (Jerzcity):

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:23pm northguineahills:

I've dropped my Vestax PDX-2000s down the stairs and they still work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:24pm northguineahills:

I saw Spacemen 3 at Brownies, kickass show! (also saw EAR and Spectrum....)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:29pm JakeGould:

Hi Scott! How are you doing? Great to be here, thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:30pm Carmichael:

Yep, Oar is definitely Syd Barrett styled ramblings and strumming, with occasional flashes of brilliance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:31pm Chris from DC:

"Little Hands" is pretty great.
  Mon. 7/9/18 4:33pm Patsy:

Is DMTIV Di Methyl Tryptamine Intravenous?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:33pm Rich in Washington:

I first saw Marisa Anderson perform in a tiny cafe in North Portland, on the same bill as Sir Richard Bishop. It was an amazing evening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:34pm Davis:

i think Patsy is right
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:34pm Stanley:

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:34pm Davis:

not sure the music actually goes there though
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:36pm steveo:

so the future is like 1983?
  Mon. 7/9/18 4:38pm Polyus:

New Rakta?
Hoo-ray!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:39pm Scott Williams:

@steveo, according to the song title, it was!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:40pm fred:

I like pretty much everything I heard from Rakta
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:44pm Scott Williams:

Rakta live FMU sesh on Bosh's show 4 years ago: freemusicarchive.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:45pm TDK60:

Hola Scott. I'm a Moby Grape fan, especially the 1rst LP. Saw M.G. once but Skip S. was absent; "sick."
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:45pm steveo:

upon further reflection, I believe that the future is like many other years, as well as 1983
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:45pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

further reflection can be dangerous
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:46pm Scott Williams:

It's always been 1983, and everyone has always been 32 years old
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:46pm steveo:

om
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:48pm fred:

@Scott: You mean you were 32 in 1983? (ducks)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:49pm Chris from DC:

That explains a lot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:50pm TDK60:

Garsh darn DJ, you know how to pick 'em.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 4:50pm steveo:

gonna have my spider spell out SOME SET in the corner of the barnyard
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:56pm Scott Williams:

@fred, I've always assumed all grownups were 32. I was not a grownup in 1983!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Fine grown-up number, 32. Power of 2, old enough to do pretty much anything but not a geezer yet. Fine number.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:59pm Scott Williams:

yeah, 32 was a very good year
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 4:59pm Matt from Springfield:

Fine vocals and arrangements on this Spring, too. Whatever this is I like it!

@Scott: And for Homer S., a very good beer.
  Mon. 7/9/18 5:00pm Algo Rhythm:

There aren't many grownups. Just lots of shriveled, tallish children.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 5:01pm Michael 98145:

i probably didn't know how much i didn't know at thirty-two
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 5:01pm fred:

I was in my 32nd year when I found WFMU, so there's something to that
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 5:04pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

dis lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:06pm Scott Williams:

^^ agreed, a lot!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:09pm Matt from Springfield:

Spring was "written, arr. & prod. by Brian Wilson". VEDDY interesting...!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:11pm TDK60:

Will see Brian Wilson later this summer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 5:11pm northguineahills:

Spring and Only Now X Orogen are new to me and digdug.

Considering the ages of 30-35 were the best years of my life, I would 32 is an awesome year to be in. (22-24 weren't bad either).
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:14pm Matt from Springfield:

@TDK60: Nice! Is he performing anything specific? I saw him perform Pet Sounds about 12 years ago - LIKED!! And Al Jardine joined him for that show as well!

@NGH: 24 is a great number too, a multiple of 3 and 4, part of the Babylonian base-60 system (thus creating the hours of the day), and...that was MY initiation year into WFMU! Never looked back! :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:14pm Davis:

ngh. 30-35, the zenith for a man i reckon. about 25 to 45 for a woman though!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:14pm Matt from Springfield:

GREAT tune, an original for a TV episode. It's rare that they do that nowadays, sadly.
  Mon. 7/9/18 5:17pm Brach:

Wow. V good show scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:18pm Scott Williams:

aww, thanks Brach!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:19pm TDK60:

Matt of Sp. I've heard he'll do Pet Sounds plus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 5:19pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

GARD YAY WHEE, Haven't heard this VisiBlood tune in ages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:20pm TDK60:

Someone told me I should check out Pet Sounds as it's a really good album. True? (HA!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:21pm Davis:

whicker manesque
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:21pm Matt from Springfield:

Sounds amazing TDK60! That's like what he performed for me.
If you want to "prepare", listen to the instro versions from the Pet Sounds Sessions, always a good aural experience. LA's Wrecking Crew at their finest!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 5:22pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Davis speaks truth. Is Nature & Organisation's cover of Willow's Song peeking around the corner?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:24pm TDK60:

What are they chewin' on, up thar in Maine?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:25pm Matt from Springfield:

The Fleetwoods :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:26pm Matt from Springfield:

@Rev: I was thinking of the same thing! Of course original songs are more common in feature films, but a folk song in the Twilight Zone is definitely Wickeresque.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 7/9/18 5:27pm Jeff Moore:

Yay! Fayelord '66!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 7/9/18 5:27pm Matt from Springfield:

Can't wait for Fayelord '77!

Good to see you there too Ike! @carm, the Garbecue went beautifully well - lotta good people showed up, Matt & Duane both slayed, and it ended at EXACTLY the right time... just as things started getting weird
