There aren't a lot of tapes from that period where Pigpen's B3 is very audible. In smaller venues it wasn't in the PA mix because the Leslie was loud enough for the room without reinforcement. Some rooms were so small the drums aren't in the board mix.

There were times where they tracked everything for recording, not just P.A. purposes...but to an extent, yeah. Of course, audience recordings are rarer from that era...but he's plenty audible in those.

Fun fact about Somerset, which is really close to Woodford. The town, which is in my county, only has five residents. Well, that was as of the last census. Maybe the population has doubled by now.
