i have had a weird day. my boss told us he is changing jobs with only 2 weeks' notice - partly due to visiting his ill mother in India. for the first time, i got busted trying to bootleg a concert.

Meghan, how much of a pour do you give for wines?

I've noticed, with the general shrinkage in the restaurant business (small plates, mi culo!), that wine pours have shrunk to 4 ounces in some places.

I only know of one place with a 6-oz pour. I was pleasantly surprised. I've known the standard as 5-oz, since at least the 80s, but that's simple cuz it makes for 5 even glasses when you're splitting a bottle at table.
