Avatar 9:15am TDK60:

Spilling the age beans, but I did see Richie Haven's "Mixed Bag" residency at the great Café Au Go Go when a mere lad.
Avatar 9:17am SmokinJ:

Mornin' all!
Avatar 9:18am Nanker de Tucson:

Herman's Hermits sound sometimes surprises me, or they seem more versatile than expected.
Avatar 9:20am TDK60:

Fasten your psychic seatbelts folks for the Airplane.
Avatar 9:21am annie:

that piano lilt in the richie havens tune just get me in the gut, such sweet phrasing..
  9:21am exile-on-hicks-street:

Seat backs are up and tray tables are in their upright and locked position...
Avatar 9:22am annie:

you can keep the Starship, i'll take Airplane anyday
Avatar 9:23am TDK60:

Annie I'm with you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am melinda:

Imagine hearing Starship first and then learning about Airplane.
Avatar 9:25am Jack:

Don't forget Hot Tuna!
Avatar 9:27am annie:

that would be a shock to the system, melinda, it would be similar to robbie the robot's "it does not compute" response.
Avatar 9:30am TDK60:

Tho I include Starship's
"Blows" and Kantner- Slick's first three duo LPs as more Airplane.
  9:30am exile-on-hicks-street:

@Melinda - I knew Marty Balin from his song “Hearts” first, then Starship and Jefferson Starship (whom I saw perform and both open AND close with “We Built This City”) and then the Airplane.
  9:31am exile-on-hicks-street:

Not if sure if my timeline is more tragic or less.
  9:32am Kevin:

Morning Bob, I was hiking in the woods along the Hudson yesterday and that JA song was in my head, Thanks
Avatar 9:36am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Avatar 9:41am annie:

every show, almost every show of yours, bob, takes me back to smoky living rooms of the sixties and seventies, laid-back and smokin' one.
  9:43am Leelee:

New here, hi all, I hear XTC in this Dukes of Stratosphere!
Avatar 9:46am annie:

hey leelee, welcome!! ... well, the expenditure of these laptop speakers was well worth it.... great sound...i bought them in staples, bad luck with them up until now..
  9:50am Leelee:

Thanks @Annie! Happy to be listening in my car right now, in a Dunkin D pkg lot :)
For weekday/workday FMU listening I’m at the mercy of earbuds. But I’ll take it however I can get it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am melinda:

@exile I know what you mean. It can be very rewarding to discover that a band you're aware of had a previous and superior incarnation.

Clouds thinning out a little. Spring trying to overpower winter's snowy grip.

Butterfield had my eleven year old daughter and big Katy Perry fan, boogieing all over the kitchen...
Avatar 10:02am TDK60:

Al Wilson was incredible.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:04am unpopularfred:

Sonny Rollins was only 19 on that Bub Powell session
Avatar 10:08am TDK60:

Check out "Owl" Wilson's interplay with John Lee Hooker on "Hooker 'n Heat."
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:12am WilliamfromDumont:

There's a whole bunch of outakes from the Pitney/Spector sessions. Mostly instrumental jams.
Avatar 10:14am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

YOU TEXT?!!?
Avatar 10:14am TDK60:

Texting? Phone calls? Hands on the tone arm and volume knobs please.
  10:15am Moe:

saw the original heat a few times and what killed the band was the tune, The Boogie, when they became popular, the crowd wouldn't let them play anything else... it got so bad with people yelling for the Boogie, that the Bear pleaded one night that they had plenty of other songs and give them a listen... it didn't help...
Avatar 10:21am annie:

i'll have to remember to get your premium, bob...
  10:22am bnowb:

loved that JonBrion song reminded me of Brian Protheroe..
  10:28am Doc Rock:
