I saw the Chicago cast in 1970, for my 10th birthday. Joe Montegna was in it...though he was nknown then, and I didn't find this out till researching it decades later.

David, what were you doing in Chicago?

still, really? who are these "all knowing judges"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/13/17 10:13pm Uncle Michael:

Ahh...you don't look older. I lived in Evanston in '84/'85 when I went back for a year. I grew up near-north. I remember being given a copy of The Seed on my way out of the Theater. That was educational. I soon began taking the bus down to Old Town....buying underground comix at Bizarre Bazaar.

Fogarty is at least as guilty of commidifying the unter culture as anyone. Hair was legit. What was staged at the Cheetah...well, it was as street and legit as putting David Peel on stage.

@Larry: Think the band Braniac, but noisier but just as tight. They were from Alabama, the bass player was a black lady, and the drummer and guitarist were ladies as well, the lead singer was a gay lad. They were in their early 20s to early 30s. Nice people. I gave them my green, as they needed more then I. I made sure they were well prepared for their next gig in Tampa. (but I'm getting too old to stay up until 3am on weeknites)

@John - Which song?
  Wed. 12/13/17 11:51pm Dean:

Fuck it. I had to miss the last hour or so of Gary and the first two hours of this show, and I have testimony about Hair! Namely, a buddy of mine from about fourth grade saw the show in LA. His family was into drugs and shit. My family and I were not, yet I visited his family frequently, even attended a "special" sixth grade class with him. One day c.'68 we peeled open an unabridged dictionary to figure out what all those words meant in "Masturbation." We were, what, 9 years old? Real education.

this jazz piano version of Frank Mills. i still remember all the words. i sing it in the shower. its a great melody. never heard a jazz piano version of it before

Oh my! I can imagine your surprise!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/13/17 11:52pm Funky16Corners:

@John - Yeah, a very pretty song
  Wed. 12/13/17 11:52pm Dean:

Not so much surprise as enlightenment. Adults have hangups, not kids.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/13/17 11:53pm Funky16Corners:

True that
  Wed. 12/13/17 11:53pm Dean:

(I mean, adults have hangups, and kids don't, not that adults don't have kids, 'cuz they do.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/13/17 11:54pm Funky16Corners:

I can vouch for that last part
  Wed. 12/13/17 11:54pm Dean:

Me, too.
  Wed. 12/13/17 11:55pm JohnMount:

all great songs, but I have to say Easy to be Hard is for me, my favorite. Powerful song. builds and builds and blows up, but gently...i don't know how to describe it, just a great one
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/13/17 11:55pm Funky16Corners:

Mine too, John
  Wed. 12/13/17 11:57pm Dean:

I make this mistake all the time: by "Masturbation" I of course meant "Sodomy." Hello? Freud? What's up with that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/13/17 11:57pm Funky16Corners:

Hmmmmmm
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/13/17 11:58pm Funky16Corners:

Sodomyyyyyyyy, fellatiooooooooo, CUNNALINGUS!!!

Just items on the to-do list...easy to mix up.
  Wed. 12/13/17 11:58pm Dean:

pederasty...father, why do these words sound so nasty?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/13/17 11:59pm Funky16Corners:

Got a checklist right here

  Thu. 12/14/17 12:02am Dean:

A joke I wrote...

One time I blurted out a sort of embarrassing remark that was not at all what I'd intended. Later, I realized it was a Freudian blow job. Uhm, I mean "slip."
  Thu. 12/14/17 12:04am JohnMount:
