Sounds good to me (I think) - and thanks for using the ß!

France has got it all.

Hey DL in LA - not as cold outside where you are, I would guess.

Love this opportunity to wisecrack. Nice to hear a Kropotkins tune recorded almost 18000 years from now.

Dean, the anomaly was supposed to be kept secret - but I will hide it again now, thanks!

It's Kris' birthday today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 4:31pm Brian in UK:

Hello David. Coldest over here last night was -13C
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 4:35pm David D:

Hello Brian - hope your heating system is up to the task!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 4:35pm northguineahills:

damn Brian, that's even cold for NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 4:36pm David D:

Thanks for listening DL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 4:36pm David D:

And happy birthday, Kris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 4:39pm northguineahills:

I was just happy I got to wear my winter jacket the last two mornings. (it got down to -2C the last two nights) (it's already 75F/24C)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 4:41pm David D:

Yes that is particularly unusual for the UK (correct me if I'm wrong). Not nearly as cold here - yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 4:44pm David D:

Hold on -2C in Florida as well? What's going on?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 4:49pm northguineahills:

Yep. It usually doesn't get that cold here until mid-january and maybe 5-7 nights per winter. But I'm equidistant from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic, and a staggering 60m above sea level, so, we don't get the moderating influences of the the ocean. So, very occasionally, we get cold nights w/ mild afternoons in the winter. (although yesterday the high was only 14C)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 4:52pm Stanley:

Digging these versions of Hidegen Fújnak a Szelek
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 4:55pm northguineahills:

DJ Stashu, is that you!???!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 5:07pm David D:

I should have played it twice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:09pm Stanley:

I just drank a cup of hot chocolate, to keep out the cold, naturally.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:11pm Brian in UK:

It was exceptionally cold last night. The chickens water was frozen. I had the pleasure of walking Spencer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:13pm Sem:

I'd be happy to send you along a nice toque, and pronounce you an honourary Canuck. Walking the dog regardless of the weather...now THAT's Canadian, eh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 5:15pm David D:

Hot chocolate sounds like a good choice. Lots of people here drink mulled wine (Glühwein).
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 5:15pm David D:

How are the chickens coping?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:16pm Brian in UK:

Looking forward to country walks on Wenlock Edge.
Long time since I heard Dando Shaft.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 5:17pm David D:

Here's someone who surely has a decent toque.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:18pm Stanley:

David, I had a drink called Glühkriek the other day. Do you know it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 5:19pm David D:

Glüh sounds German but Kriek is more Dutch, I think. Could be from the border?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:19pm northguineahills:

ha, David! @5:07
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:20pm Brian in UK:

David, after the clocks change there is always a hiatus in laying. They are slowing returning one by one. You can tell by the size of the eggs
As for the weather, they are suitably protected in the hutch and about themselves..
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:21pm northguineahills:

I know what ingredients I'm going to get at the store after work to make, Glühwein!!!! (my fave winter drink!!! )(and it reminds me of Berlin).
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:23pm Stanley:

It was a warm cherry beer. Very comforting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 5:23pm David D:

Sounds like a plan! There may be a few drops left in the Radio Blau kitchen in fact but I may have to settle for what's in the fridge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:24pm Sem:

A winter warmer in this part of the country is moose milk, kind of a stripped back eggnog affair. Heavy on the heavy cream, and heavier still on a rum with some sweetness to it. Often, it is the Newfoundland tipple called Screech.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:24pm northguineahills:

Antoine Dufour, new to me a digworthy, and now Steeleye Span!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:25pm northguineahills:

I hate to be the one who has to milk a moose.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:25pm Brian in UK:

Stanley, do you remember Young's Winter Warmer?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:26pm Sem:

I note Mr. Dufour is from L'Épiphanie, Quebec, in the Laurentian Mountains north of Montreal. The man for sure has a major league toque.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:29pm northguineahills:

I got to wear a toque last night for the first time in over a year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:30pm Sem:

Stanley! Bomb shelter, STAT!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 5:33pm David D:

There is a new Glühbier brew in the shops here now. Some sort of experiment I will certainly have to sample myself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:33pm Stanley:

Sem - fortunately David warned me in advance and I had time to put my special silver foil protective headgear on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:33pm northguineahills:

I just got to the Beatles in listening to my cds in alphabetical order. I'm going to be sick of the Beatles by NYE (and I love them)(Thank goodness my turntable isn't hooked up yet).
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:36pm Sem:

I thought this was going to be the live New York version, which I think features Ms. Ono is full vocal flight. But good you had the correct prophylactic close to hand.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 5:36pm David D:

Yes, I issue intuitive warnings. You can all remove your headgear again now. Except for the toques of course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:40pm Brian in UK:

The only Beatles single I bought was The Ballad of John and Yoko. I thought it showed enough wit to laugh at himself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:46pm Sem:

The only Beatles song I learned to play and sing. My party piece at the time. On the mandocello, a real chick magnet :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:50pm Stanley:

Earwig-o!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:51pm Stanley:

Ooops, I thought it was Circle. But this is not bad....
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:56pm Stanley:

My 83-year-old mother's current favourite teevee show is Ice Truckers. Daring tales of 50 ton trucks crossing Alaska's frozen river roads.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:56pm northguineahills:

Surf City, new to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 5:59pm Sem:

Throwing an extra duvet on the bed in response to this set. Thank you, David, I enjoy everything about your show. G'night to you, and all. Toque to you later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 6:00pm David D:

Ice truckers, that's the job for me, swinging from tree to tree...

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:08pm Stanley:

Same here, the GMT listeners are dropping away. Thanks David for another great show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 6:10pm David D:

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:21pm Webhamster Henry:

Hi I've been on the phone and cooking, but also listening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 6:23pm David D:

Hello Henry - what's cooking?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:23pm northguineahills:

Actually, I could use some slumber, trying to stay up w/ late 20s musicians past 2am might be beyond this old fogey can do on a weeknite.

I'll probably leave work in 15 mins.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 6:24pm David D:

I know that feeling, NGH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:25pm Webhamster Henry:

Sorry I missed the Hidegen Fújnak a Szelek set - the version by The X was popular at WFMU in the early 90s!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:26pm Webhamster Henry:

And what was cookin? Borshch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:31pm northguineahills:

Wow, the coldest weather I've been in is -32C on the the top of a mountain skiing in WV. (1850m above sea level in Dec)
  Tue. 12/12/17 6:37pm Dean:

The Montreal winter...was that '98? I was there later in the year for the Victo Festival. The woman who ran the B&B where I stayed kindly gave me a driving tour of Victoriaville, where she pointed out how the trees and "les brisées." (She spoke French exclusively.) Lo, the wikipedia entry for the January 1998 North American ice storm includes a photo depicting damaged trees!
  Tue. 12/12/17 6:38pm Dean:

*pointed out the trees and...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 6:40pm David D:

Dean, yes it was! New Year's 1997-98 - one of my favorite places any time of year.
  Tue. 12/12/17 6:41pm Doctorjazz:

Aww, missed the set (in the car, had to hear what happened in Alabama), back for free jazz, check it out in the archives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 6:42pm David D:

Henry, perfect choice for this time of year. With sour cream and stuff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 6:44pm David D:

Doc: You will even hear me mention you if you do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:45pm northguineahills:

1981! Wow, could have fooled me, this is incendiary! I'm out, thanks David!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 12/12/17 6:46pm David D:

Have a gerat evening, NGH, don't forget your toque at work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:47pm northguineahills:

I had a friend drive from Jacksonville, FL to Victoriaville, QC for the fest (only stopping to say hi to me in Brooklyn) on a motorcycle).
  Tue. 12/12/17 6:49pm Dean:

Man, @ngh, that is one long haul! I would fly out of LAX to Montreal via Toronto, then either take a bus to Victo or meet up with a friend from Connecticut. Return trip was in friend's car back to Fairfield, with trips to NYC for the last few nights of Vision Festival. Flight home out of Hartford.
  Tue. 12/12/17 6:53pm Doctorjazz:

Man, That's more energy than I have...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 12/12/17 6:54pm northguineahills:

(It was the one Anthony Braxton played w/ Wolf Eyes)
  Tue. 12/12/17 6:55pm Dean:

This was more than seventeen years ago, @doc, pre-marriage, pre-kids.

I missed that one, damnit, @ngh, though I have the record. Stopped attending Victo in 2001, when I returned to school.
