Glad you liked it. It was new to me, too. Just stumbled on it (online) the other day and I've been wondering where it's been all my life.

@Funky16 Corners
In social work school we are taught to say "developmentally disadvantaged" and not crazy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/27/17 1:33pm Brian in UK:

Thank Rudy you made it Doug, save me embarrassing myself with inane jibberish again.
  Fri. 10/27/17 1:34pm Funky16corners:

I don’t know about Mr Blake, but that xylophone was most definitely crazy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/27/17 1:35pm Brian in UK:

Doggin' might have a different meaning over here.
  Fri. 10/27/17 1:36pm Dean:

I don't know what to make of this, but OED locates an early instance of the British slang sense of "dogging" ("The practice of watching or engaging in exhibitionist sexual activity in a public place, typically a car park, esp. as part of a gathering arranged for this purpose.") in 1986. The more general sense of hounding, following on somebody's heels, dates to 1519.

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/27/17 1:38pm Brian in UK:

Avatar Fri. 10/27/17 1:40pm Doug Schulkind:

The bassest horn you can git.
Avatar Fri. 10/27/17 1:41pm Doug Schulkind:

Hope no one's disappointed, but I will not be spinning Jackie Wilson's "Doggin' Around" at this time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/27/17 1:42pm Brian in UK:

Sorry that was Basset Hound
  Fri. 10/27/17 1:43pm Dean:

"Literary" is the important qualifier, @Doug, with respect to OED, I suspect. I can imagine that Blues artists of the '20s and '30s knew well a sense of the word that wouldn't achieve for decades the degree of literary warrant to qualify for inclusion in OED. People said it, but they didn't write it.

Gonna play "How Much Is That Doggin' the Window"?
  Fri. 10/27/17 1:44pm Funky16Corners:

The entire Nsync catalog would be terrible music to make aloo gobi by.

Bach on harpsichord gets a bad rap, doesn't it, because of that remark by Sir Thomas Beecham? In fact, Bach on harpsichord can be the most savory, spicy, tangy music you've ever tasted.

Avatar Fri. 10/27/17 2:56pm glenn:

chicken and dumplings here tonight.
  Fri. 10/27/17 2:57pm Dean:

I'm of the "if you like it, it's appropriate" frame of mind. If you can find it, Port Brewing marked down its Hop 15 to under $5/22oz. bottle. It's high ABV at 10%. If you are concerned about pairing with food, it could overwhelm Mexican food without giving relief against spiciness.
