![]() BrownwynB: I apologize for the gay raids and the racism. I'm dead now, and it's so weird. I have my statue by the municipal building and they are thinking about taking it down. Should they? |
![]() |
![]() Zats, I haven't been to Seattle in like thirty years. I need to build up a travel budget. |
![]() |
![]() Ken from Hyde Park: Bumbershoot years ago. I played a harp on the Space Needle and saw multiple members of the Shins trade bands. And this sounds like Swervedriver. |

Nailed it Therese, one of the best Cure songs IMO |
Thu. 8/24/17 9:21pm
Madman Muntz:
Ken from Hyde Park. Better hurry up and get over here before it rains. I hope you like construction. The whole place from Yesler Way to Valley Street is tore up from the floor up.
![]() |
![]() No offense. No offense. F(o)king Philly. |
![]() |
![]() Agreed, @Switchblade Batman. |
Thu. 8/24/17 9:24pm
Madman Muntz:
Mayor, I thought MOVE had relocated to under the viaduct.
![]() |
![]() Madam Muntz: getting away from Mayor Frank, I was going to ask you about your Seattle viaduct. Is that thing still happening? Seattle's Big Dig? Ugh. Talk about cranes... |
Thu. 8/24/17 9:26pm
sugarwolf:
Hello!! | |
![]() |
![]() Hell-o sugarwolf, best name in the world... |
Thu. 8/24/17 9:27pm
Madman Muntz:
Mayor, the viaduct is still there. The mud tunnel is done but they have to put stuff in it, like a road etc. Then the viaduct goes down. A couple of years or so or next century, whichever works best.
![]() |
![]() Kitchens! Thanks! |

Thu. 8/24/17 9:48pm
Madman Muntz:
Mayor, you're showing your age; I guess you'd be about 97 now. I still tell people about what you said about the "f***in' rock."
![]() |
![]() I'm 139 years old. What did I say about the f***in' rock? I'm daft. |
![]() |
![]() It's my birthday tomorrow. I'll be 143, because when you reach my age, you take on partial dog years. Any Yes or Rundgren? Are they alive? |
![]() |
![]() Fucking Dexter...Norfolk. We don't drink, we don't smoke, Norfolk, Norfolk... (you'll get this is you know how to pronounce Norfolk correctly). |
Thu. 8/24/17 9:55pm
Madman Muntz:
If I had some albums, I'd have a better list, but my faves are "In The Midnight Hour," "You're Looking Good," "6345789," "Mustang Sally." Mayor, the rock was in front of the Police Administration Building, if I remember right. It's mentioned in this book https://www.amazon.com/Cop-Who-Would-King-Honorable/dp/0316095214 as an example of Hizzoner's opinion of set-aside art.
![]() |
![]() haha i stepped away for a moment but i enjoyed the MOVE reference. poor move folks. damn incendiary devices. |
Thu. 8/24/17 9:57pm

![]() |
![]() Madman, are you asking if I'm from xpn, or MOVE? i am not part of xpn but i grew up listening to it and i met michaela majoun once and she told me she liked my earrings and i died |
![]() |
![]() i listened to xpn every day from the time i was in the womb until i switched abruptly, and entirely, to fmu when i was 17. i should listen to xpn again sometime just for old times sake. |
Thu. 8/24/17 10:00pm
lothianman:
thanks Madman......haven't heard "You're looking good" will check out !! much appreciated !! it has indeed been a hard days night !!

![]() Wilson Goode. And Mayor Frank said of the sculpture (off the top of my head): It looks like someone dumped a pile of concrete. David ?Dye. Karen Heller. "Doves are flying out from all over me. I raise my arms, they fly out of my armpits. I'm only interested in worrying about the city." - Rizzo, Inquirer 3-31-74 |
Thu. 8/24/17 10:03pm
Madman Muntz:
Mayor, you might have it right about the Police Administration Building. I remember that quote too. But the rock was somewhere over there. It's all in the book. I read it the first six months in town when I lived at Winona and Tacoma.
![]() |
![]() Winona and Tocoma should be the name of a Seattle band. |

BronwynB, thanks for getting my memories fixed. I spent my whole time in Philly listening to WXPN; Mary Armstrong, Blues Show, Sunnyside. They introduced me to Barbecue Bob, Son House, Martin Carthy, Son Ford Thomas (his promo "what is this number is again? WXPN, Philadelphia." I still have an air check cassette of the Blues Show with Howlin' Wolf, Pigmeat Terry, Barbecue Bob, Leadbelly, Mooch Richardson.

It's definately something LIKE that. I only had a glimpse of it (I was moving and there were cars behind me) The style looked like a Toynbee tile, but the wording I can't give you. |

I would have instagrammed it if I could have. |
![]() |
![]() I will personally recommend the doc. Good rainy afternoon viewing about a couple guy's obsession. Long live Sevy. The Philly accents along are worth it. A worthy view, and kind of sad when you think about it. Praise Therese! |

As a native of BK, I wanna kick your ass for that. Also as a native of BK I have to nod sadly to that. The magic has been bought and sold. |
![]() |
![]() Great tunes tonight, Therese. I'm baking cookies for a picnic tomorrow. Ran out of stick butter, but I have some in a tub that I usually put on toast. |
![]() |
![]() It's gone. Parts of real Philly dying too. They shuttered Little Pete's for god's sake. |
![]() |
Thu. 8/24/17 11:14pm
Switchblade Batman:
I'm not sure what Little Pete's is, but I'm guessing that that's not good. |
Thu. 8/24/17 11:17pm
Madman Muntz:
Well, if the Victor Cafe, the Mario Lanza Museum, and Strolli's are still there, all is not lost.
