Ridgewood Radio features live sets by adventurous bands and experimental musicians, recorded at clubs and galleries running along the L-train corridor through Brooklyn and Queens from Williamsburg to the Rockaways. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the blossoming Ridgewood neighborhood, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Starting out the day in 1989, but eventually we get to this June 14!

Good afternoon David, Ruth, and virtual or actual Ridgewood people
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 3:04pm weinstein:

Ah Fred. You are figuring us out. Some of the characters around here aren't even real! (Ruth not included)

Hi David and Ridgewooders.
Love this Frisell playing Monk-he's playing in Philly in September, won't be able to go, not sure if he has NY area dates.

Thanks Doctor. I was thrilled to find this.

@doctorjazz: this Friday at Roulette, apparently
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 3:26pm weinstein:

Yes with Thomas Morgan this Friday at Roulette indeed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/28/17 3:34pm doctorjazz:

Cool, maybe I can get there (had planned to go the one in Philly, really like Petra Haden as well, but the wife made plans on/for me...good plans, mind you, but will miss that one)
This is just great!!! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/28/17 3:37pm fred:

Obviously, I won't be there on Friday. But it's open-doors day at the Paris art school, so I'm taking a day off and will spend the afternoon looking at the students' work, catching a dance performance, maybe a few concerts, and drinking cheap yet nice beer
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/28/17 3:45pm doctorjazz:

Sounds good, Fred, enjoy!
More current live sounds, also really cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/28/17 3:47pm fred:

Almost a 3-decade leap, jarring in a good way

Matthew Gantt is hard to Google as there seems to be several of them in the arts. But follow the trail to his VR companion, "Plastics". Fascinating new voice to me.

Is that this Matthew Gantt? gantt.works
I trained google well, it seems to add "weird music" automatically to my searches from home
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 3:59pm geezerette:

...and hello, David & fellows.
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 4:00pm geezerette:

nice, Fred!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/28/17 4:01pm fred:

Hello geezerette. That's a festive new avatar
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 4:01pm weinstein:

Good work, Fred and Geez. Appreciate the digging!
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 4:04pm geezerette:

Thanks Fred, does it work for Bastille Day too?
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 4:05pm geezerette:

David, easy to dig when you're already digging. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/28/17 4:11pm fred:

@geezerette: I guess sp. I was reminded today that it was coming. Not a good surprise, as it cuts a days from a an already short deadline at work
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/28/17 4:45pm doctorjazz:

Guitar heaven today...
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 4:45pm weinstein:

No time to tell more about Ackerly but following her album Coalesce, or her projects Gold Dime or Jazz Bra's Dot Com will yield rewards.
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 4:55pm weinstein:

Thanks, all! Stay tuned for Kenzo!
Avatar Wed. 6/28/17 4:58pm geezerette:

Thanks David!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/28/17 5:00pm fred:

Over already? Thanks David, there was indeed a lot of good music to play (for you) or hear (for me)
