Pie. Way more versatile. Also, I don't know if anyone is familiar with Fang "Landshark", but when I was a wee punk teen lass I bought the 10" EP (because I liked the cover, which was how I often decided what record I would buy) and enjoyed it on 33 for a long, long time before one day I somehow discovered it was supposed to be played on 45. It became a completely different experience! It changed from slow dirge to thrash hardcore, but still enjoyable. Enjoying tonight's show, thanks!

Not only did Kamikaze Diane, as pointed out by em2lc, play slow 45s as a regular thing, but lots of WFMU DJs used to play stuff wrong speed or backwards. I keep forgetting which DJ used to play whole LP sides backwards. WFMU DJs don't just play music, they play WITH music, same way my sister & I used to as kids; mostly we liked to play 33 1/3s at 78, or vice versa. Or the magic-eye Webcor at various tape speeds & backwards with Daddy's help.

You have to allow ice cream cake -- even tortoni, which is cakish by name, but which consists of an ice cream with a tiny bit of crumbs sprinkled on top -- just to give cake any chance, and it still isn't close. Pie in a landslide -- or a mud slide, if you've ever had mud slide pie. And just to run up the score, there are even pies with icing.

Just consider: pies with top crust, without top crust, hot, cold, fruit pies, meat pies, cream pies, vegetable pies. Pizza pie's a whole menu unto itself. We'll even give cake pizza rustica because it's so cakelike and pies don't need that kind of help.
