It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the blossoming Ridgewood neighborhood, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Opening with a tease for an upcoming segment with Shelley!
  Wed. 5/24/17 3:02pm Dean:

She sings on Art Garfunkel's "Watermark," so I learned this weekend.

Hey there, David and Ruth!
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 3:08pm weinstein:

Hello James! Hey Dean, I think she was 16 years old or something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 5/24/17 3:12pm listener james from westwood:

Just about this time last year, I was listening to one of your very first programs via the magic of the mobile app while driving down to Livingston, NJ to help install an air conditioner. I will be making that drive tomorrow for the very same mission, and happy I am not to have to stop listening before today's show is done when I get out of a car!
  Wed. 5/24/17 3:13pm Dean:

I've heard her live only once, at the 2000 FIMAV with DJ Olive. That happens to be the year when Cecil Taylor had trouble crossing the border into Canada, so Paul Plimley and John Oswald opened for Marilyn Crispell, expecting Taylor's performance would not take place. But he made it across, and all four performed.

When Shelley enters the conversations, the stories start flowing! Thanks you all!

Quick hi, busy, probably can't chat much. Keeping the sounds on, though.
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 3:28pm weinstein:

Thanks Doctor. Understood. I often listen to the pop up player at work without having hands to comment so... enjoy!

Hello Ridgewood!
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 3:35pm weinstein:

Hello Henry! Ridgewood had a little flood this week, so we are kind of soggy. But still transmitting!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 3:37pm fred:

Hello all, I'm late because I missed Mayuko's show last week and I just had to catch up
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 3:40pm weinstein:

Fred, you've arrived during an hour of trickery! (I'm tempted to keep it secret though)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 5/24/17 3:41pm Webhamster Henry:

If you have a flood, I guess it's good you have a Sump nearby then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 3:43pm fred:

trickery looks like a good thing when it's about music
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 3:47pm fred:

Mayuko's show featured Yarn/Wire again. I really like them. Do you know this ensemble?
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 3:51pm weinstein:

Yes, they are working that zone between "classical contemporary" and new experimental with younger top notch players.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 3:53pm fred:

That Chris Libutti set sounds like my kind of thing, probably better live but I'm happy to hear this
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 3:56pm weinstein:

It is best experienced live. And all the excitement around the Maryanne Amacher redux projects has brought that into the light again recently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 4:01pm fred:

I have to tell the Sonic Protest people about Chris Libutti. I saw one yesterday, poor timing
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 5/24/17 4:18pm Webhamster Henry:

Hmm I might have been to this show -- I did visit Nicholas at STEIM earlier that year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 4:19pm fred:

I've heard many weird covers, but my favorite ever isn't that weird, it's Pipilotti Rist's version of Wicked Game (the ending, obviously)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 4:23pm fred:

@Webhamster Henry: Let me know if you ever drop by IRCAM in the future. Or drop the WFMU name while you're there, it could work, I'm kinda notorious about that
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 4:26pm weinstein:

Well, this is interesting. IRCAM, STEIM, WFMU, and Pipilotti Rist! Only in the Drummer universe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 4:39pm fred:

This is where it gets embarrassing: I work at IRCAM, but as a lowly tech. So I can't get you a tour of the place. The famed anechoic chamber? I'm not allowed there. But if the time is right I can get you in touch with someone who has human being status
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/24/17 4:42pm fred:

The drumming sounded like five years
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 5/24/17 4:49pm ⓘⓚⓔ:

Das ist gut.
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 4:52pm weinstein:

The Ridgewood Radio studio dubs this track Sad Clowns and that was a lot like the performance too.
Avatar Wed. 5/24/17 4:59pm weinstein:

Thanks all. We say goodbye...
