@Doug, don't know what colleges you are considering, but I'd recommend checking out TCNJ. We really like the school, administration is quite helpful, and it has some excellent programs (Education and Biology, to name 2 I know of). And it is reasonable (by today's college insane standards...remember when CUNY was free, but never mind), even for out of state students (I know a New York family with kids there). The only problem is that it is isolated, nothing much around (that could also be viewed as a positive, less distractions). Just Sayin'...

Short-grain rice is the main staple in our household. I can cook it in my sleep.

Apparently, the epoxy offers little sealing against water absorption but serves to bind varnish to wood. I've followed the process once before, and it has held up.
Avatar Fri. 4/14/17 10:34am still b/p:

I think 7 coats varnish and 3 of epoxy is what you use to preserve a human, if you're, like, a Hammer Films kind of way.

  Fri. 4/14/17 10:46am Dean:

That is a remarkable anecdote, @doctorjazz.

When a substitute teaches in a jazz history or performance class, do the students even bother to switch name tags the way we did in elementary school? Does it even matter?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 4/14/17 10:49am doctorjazz:

Konitz didn't seem interested in the teaching stuff, as I remember he was just interested in playing Bitches Brew and demonstrating stuff on his horn (he did Chuch Israels a favor, he had a tour of some sort). He mostly stood in front of a lecture hall and blew.

I might never see the Rüstem Pasha Mosque. That's a shame. Might never go to that bridge and watch those boats, the kind of thing I love to do. I probably will never eat a mackerel sandwich, and my spirit is fully at peace with THAT.

Anyway, still b/p, if you got a mackerel sandwich at Wholley's, the sandwich would be called the... !
Avatar Fri. 4/14/17 11:33am Doug Schulkind:

But you're probably never having one, so never mind.
