Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Arnold Dreyblatt & The Orchestra of Excited Strings  The Adding Machine   Favoriting The Adding Machine  Cantaloupe Music  2001  CD  Ensemble performing on adapted instruments: the "cimbalom”, a rebuilt and restrung pre-war Chinese children's piano played horizontally with hand held hammers, electric guitars with built-in magnetic driver-sustainers for each string and, bass violin adapted with unwound steel wire and is struck and beaten with a bass bow, Hurdy-Gurdy, Cello, violin, Double Bass, and percussion. All instruments, with the exception of percussion, perform in the 20-tone per octave just intoned microtonal scale derived from the overtone series.

Yeah, he's pretty special and this configuration is locked in. Too bad there aren't more recordings. I'm not seeing much evidence they ever even did another gig!
