Doesn't end well for the cabbage: trailingtrekker.files.wordpress.com...

Yes, Stanley, you were about book a beret fitting next time you visited NZ.

Ms. Jones has the serious chops. Lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Stanley:

I think I was prattling on about Alex Harvey then I fell into the void.
That's right Sem but got most confused why the berets are sent from France to NZ to then send them out to the world.

"Sam With The Showing Scalp Flat Top", please. I'm particular to the point it makes

Great pic Sem!
Avatar 12:27pm
Sem Chumbo:

De nada, Mr. Mac.

Stanley: the man at the Beret Project is a Dutchman. He knows more about SELLING berets than the French. I bought one a few years back from a French concern. It was weeks and weeks, over-priced, and a shitty hat besides. Daan had my order here in NS in 13 days flat, in the middle of December, and made a few bucks. Voila.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
Stanley:

That makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if you tried to buy one in France they would ask you why you wanted one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
Stanley:

Ah, I remember this. (Now, I realise why I didn't have many friends when I was young)
Avatar 12:33pm
Sem Chumbo:

I've been reading THE LOCAL from Paris for the past few months, marveling at the alien culture that is France. Today I see the French government wants to put CCTV in all the abattoirs because animal slaughter needs to be watched closely, or they just need a shoe-string addition to the state-owned broadcast network.
Sacre bleu!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm
fred:

@Stanley: buying a beret in France would be an ordeal. You're likely to get ripped off as a tourist. You'd have to prove you're legit. No idea how you do that, I'm 1/8th Tunisian, and was told loudly that this not acceptable

Hello sensation seekers.
Youngest daughters' birthday. About to cook half a dozen dishes. Already under the influence of sister gin.

I played Tinariwen to someone who liked the Ingerlish blues boys from the Sixties. He said what is this crap? Saints preserve us.

Did the Bad Brains documentary cover their hatred of gays (and subsequently their dislike of the Big Boys)?

Yeah, there was something about that in particular. Can't remember the details. HR was a lunatic.

Apparently their big break came when they were asked to tour with the Beastie Boys and HR didn't show for the opening date. Quite a bit of hostility between him and the other band members throughout their career, but what a band when they were together.
