I used to have a Japanese pressing on CD, is there a decent repress of Black Woman? Or should I bite the bullet and go for the original?

@Howard, there's a CD reissue of Black Woman from maybe 10 years ago. I don't know of a vinyl one, though.

We need more politicians like him
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 12/4/16 6:54am Nate K.:

@Howard, I know, right? This is the best (only?) anti-hippie/hippie-exploitation record ever.
Avatar Sun. 12/4/16 6:56am Howard F:

Sounds like he did a bit of research!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 12/4/16 7:11am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Is there a Fennario? Or is it just a word Dylan made up on 'Great White Way'?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 12/4/16 7:13am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...there's a Baez song & things...not my rabbithole just now...

@Revo, nah, just had some issues. I think we're all good to go now.
Sun. 12/4/16 7:53am Dan from Toronto:

Was the Slits the band Neneh Cherry was in once upon a time?
Sun. 12/4/16 7:56am Dan from Toronto:

Hm, perhaps "in" is overly ambitious. Wikipedia set me straight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 12/4/16 8:07am Nate K.:

Hey Dan, Neneh Cherry was in a band called Rip Rig + Panic that wasn't unlike the Slits, at least in breaking down punk orthodoxy. There might be other connections, too.

I'm up early in the home office working (unfortunately), but I've had this fine show keeping me company -- Thanks, Nate! (In addition, thanks for the call out earlier.)
Sun. 12/4/16 8:32am Dan from Toronto:

@Nate K.: Yeah Wikipedia had some background on her having hung out with The Slits while her (step)dad was on tour with them when she was 15. it's funny because that's not the music she eventually got famous for making....

Hunter used it in "dire wolf"
in the backwash of fennario...etc
also versions of Peggy O

...altho' across the same long state - the miles between Fennario & Funkytown were all we needed to know to understand not only the secret history of American Music, but much of Society itself...
