@Scraps: Well, don't be so quick to dismiss "Angie" as a f-ed up song... ;)

Actually it was a straightforward ballad contributed by Keith, but various rumors about Mick being caught in bed w/ Bowie started, and that this was an apology to his then-wife, Angie. Not actually the case but makes a fun story!

Dave Grohl, Nirvana/Foo Fighters: "And it was just incredible! Before them, there was NOTHING like that, especially for us living out in suburbia. We were lucky to get a snippet of that world, late at night listening to WHFS in our bedroom. But this blew even that out of the water! I can't describe how liberating they were to me, as a musician and a fan of music." ... "I'm sorry, which documentary is this, which band is this for?"...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 11/6/16 11:33pm BadGuyZero:

I often wish music documentaries had two versions: one for the die-hard fan of the artist and a shorter version that's for the casual/new fan. I've seen too many music docs that I would have enjoyed more had they been 30+ minutes shorter.
Avatar Sun. 11/6/16 11:34pm MFOOZ:

You are killin' it tonight, Terese. Untouchables track made me head to YouTube to watch the excellent Free Yourself video. Dave Grohl & Thurston Moore indeed!!! LOL The epitome of the talking head for me was watching Gene Simmons gushing about the Dave Clark Five in some lame PBS doco.
Avatar Sun. 11/6/16 11:34pm Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: That would be a good idea for DVD/BluRay releases, include two settings you can watch for that. For the most part TV should show the short version, unless it's on Ovation or a more arty channel.

I also wish that some movies would include the edited-for-broadcast-television version as an extra. I love all the "mickeyfickey"s in "Do The Right Thing."
Avatar Sun. 11/6/16 11:43pm Matt from Springfield:

I think there's a "Scarface" (1983) DVD with their TV version included! So many "fucks" deleted out you can't understand what they're saying or what the plot is! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 11/6/16 11:46pm BadGuyZero:

The Criterion Collection release of "Repo Man" includes the edited-for-TV version. I don't have the set, but I read that there's deleted footage and alternate versions of scenes in the TV-friendly version.

The first two Superman movies had a bunch of extra footage added when they premiered on network television. I don't believe those versions have ever been released on DVD or blu ray.
