  Mon. 10/24/16 3:26am Mark R:

I know it's the SILENT Fundraiser, but sheesh! you guys are sure quiet tonight!
Avatar Mon. 10/24/16 3:37am HarktheUmpire:

Good morning Mr R.!
Avatar Mon. 10/24/16 3:38am HarktheUmpire:

it's a misty morning here in Berlin and I'm looking forward to seeing Mike Watt play tonight
Avatar Mon. 10/24/16 3:38am HarktheUmpire:

How are you doing?
  Mon. 10/24/16 3:39am Mark R:

Thanks for tuning in, kind sir. Mike Watt sounds like a great night out!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/24/16 3:40am coelacanth:

howdy Mark
i'm listening but i'm only computering for a moment
  Mon. 10/24/16 3:42am Mark R:

Howdy Coel--understood, the listening is the most important part!
  Mon. 10/24/16 3:42am Mark R:

I once lamented to DJ Stash that nobody was listening because nobody was commenting and she assured me that there are many listeners who never comment, so...
  Mon. 10/24/16 3:48am Mark R:

Stashu not Stash...although DJ Stash might be a good person to know, also...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/24/16 3:49am coelacanth:

who said "it's better to to remain silent and be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt"...
i'm a prime example of this.
  Mon. 10/24/16 3:50am Mark R:

I've heard it attributed to Oscar Wilde...but you're no fool. I've known many a fool, and you, sir, are no fool.
  Mon. 10/24/16 4:06am Mark R:

This is a dancier show than I usually do. I'm kinda diggin' it.
Avatar Mon. 10/24/16 4:11am Smilty69:

Digging the show thus far, Mark R. Thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/24/16 4:12am coelacanth:

damn, i remember when i first heard 19th nervous breakdown. my parents were all about the beatles but didn't want anything to do with the 'stones. i had to sneak it.
...when honky tonk women came on (which seemed to be a top 10 hit forever) they changed the station and i casually left to go upstairs "for something". (to listen to it on an alternate radio)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/24/16 4:13am coelacanth:

holy shit!
interesting version!
  Mon. 10/24/16 4:13am Mark R:

Thanks Smilty, appreciate it. Yes that was a real rivalry thing with some people. I always dug 'em both, for different reasons. The Stones were better when they got out of the Beatles shadow. It was starting to happen even before the Beatles broke up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/24/16 4:15am coelacanth:

yeah... let it bleed obviously named after let it be; but it was an entirely different animal.
- and an equally relevant one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/24/16 4:29am coelacanth:

well, i never felt i had to choose between the beatles & the stones; and in jr high school was on the led zeppelin side, and my friends on the grateful dead side were pulling at me. i never did denounce either one, and ultimately joined the pink floyd cult and the doors & David Bowie cults anyway!
(and meanwhile was all about steppenwolf from about 7 years old...but i was alone on that one)
  Mon. 10/24/16 4:32am Mark R:

Steppenwolf I thought got kinda bum-rapped as a bubblegum group because they had the audacity to have hit singles. But an album like "Monster" is as solid a rock 'n' roll concept album as anyone has ever produced.
  Mon. 10/24/16 4:33am Mark R:

Yes, 78s were singles and therefore qualify for Singles Going Steady Week. Oz has spoken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/24/16 4:36am coelacanth:

Mark, yeah monster was ...a monster.
...great album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/24/16 4:47am coelacanth:

a'right. time to let the radio do the talking.
...computer off; fm in sync.
Thanks Mark!
g'night/morning

Glad we could be of assistance, ans

Indeed, Mark: www.youtube.com...

From a RLJ fan-club 7" or something. (it's not Levar Burton, though, despite what the youtuber said)
  Mon. 10/24/16 5:35am Mark R:

Thanks for the confirmation, Jason. BTW that's a very weird interview question, isn't it? Sort of an icebreaker: "What were the skies like when you were young?" Wonder how Sinatra would have answered that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 10/24/16 5:38am Jason_:

Ha, never though of it like that but yes, it is very a propos nothing. Later on, he asks 'what did you play when you were a kid' (fair enough) then 'who did you play with' as if he wants names, addresses, places of residence...
  Mon. 10/24/16 5:39am Mark R:

Borderline creepy. Maybe not so borderline, come to think of it.
