Hi geezerette! How goes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:09pm Parq:

Pssh. I thought it said "Love Vibration" I am relieved. Hi, Jess. Hey, James, Geez.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:10pm listener james from westwood:

I'm specifically editing a bibliography, so calm ambient waves are the very thing.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:11pm listener james from westwood:

(But I'm of course happy to go wherever the show goes! This is always a great program for my line of work, uptempo or down.)
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:13pm geezerette:

I'm good! Low vibes totally working for me. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:13pm Jesse K:

Hi Parq! Slow and low tonight but you can take the vibrations in that direction if you want
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:14pm geezerette:

Hi Parq!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:16pm geezerette:

Ambient Otaku is a very funny name. Maybe Comicon should be re branded.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:18pm northguineahills:

I love 90s ambient!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:18pm Jesse K:

That would be their chill out room?
Avatar    Tue. 9/20/16 6:18pm the glowing one:

Ah, I recognize that label, it's David Moufang's. I'd been a fan of Deep Space Network back in the day.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:18pm geezerette:

haha! :D
  Tue. 9/20/16 6:19pm Dean:

Last night my son asked me to put on some soothing music. I chose Montserrat Figueras's Ninna Nanna, which did the trick. But if I owned the Tetsu Inoue record, I'd have played that instead.
Avatar    Tue. 9/20/16 6:22pm the glowing one:

the whole 90s ambient scene was really something, the perfect soundtrack for the pre-millennium
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:23pm Jesse K:

Hey northguineahills! the glowing one! Dean! @Dean, get your son back in here!
Avatar    Tue. 9/20/16 6:24pm the glowing one:

heyo
  Tue. 9/20/16 6:26pm Dean:

He can't afford to doze right now. There's homework to be done!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:30pm Jesse K:

fair enough, homework comes first!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:35pm Rich in Washington:

this is a great mix. Enjoying it immensely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:36pm Jesse K:

Howdy Rich! Electro Harmonix is doing all the lifting here
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:37pm Parq:

Not to take this too far onto a side point, but Dean reminds me, I've always dug the fact that Raymond Scott wrote electronic music for babies.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:43pm geezerette:

Its peaceful out here making small repairs on the space station.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 6:46pm Parq:

Geez, be careful. Remember "Gravity".
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 6:51pm geezerette:

No problem Parq! There isn't any!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 7:00pm listener james from westwood:

Fixing to beat Bryce on the smallest # of playlist entries per hour!
  Tue. 9/20/16 7:03pm Dean:

IN-oo-ay?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:04pm Jesse K:

Yes, thanks Dean where were you before I opened my big mouth!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:04pm Jesse K:

I know it's always a good sign when I've left the playlist for long enough that it stops being 'live'
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:07pm Jesse K:

All the art tonight are paintings by Mernet Larsen. More of her work is here: mernetlarsen.com
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:11pm Andrew Waterloo:

wow.. it's been awhile since I last caught this live :)
  Tue. 9/20/16 7:12pm Dean:

And here I was thinking outtakes from that old Dire Straits video.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:14pm Jesse K:

Hey Andrew, welcome back!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:15pm Jesse K:

@Dean, they may have been looking at her for that
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:22pm Jesse K:

Although they probably weren't
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:53pm northguineahills:

Just took a 75 minute nao, this was the perfect soundtrack.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 7:55pm northguineahills:

nao=nap
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 8:01pm northguineahills:

Faving this episode!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 8:04pm Jesse K:

Then anytime can be naptime!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 8:07pm northguineahills:

So far, I only have the Aphex Twin and this Main in my collection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 8:39pm northguineahills:

Never heard of BFC before, apparently it was a Carl Craig project?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 8:42pm Jesse K:

Yeah that came out on a split with a project called Psyche, which was also Carl Craig
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 8:55pm northguineahills:

I remember picking up Spacetime Continuum's "Sea Biscuit" b/c it was on Atralwerks, as was the Chemical Brothers, and I just got into Eno's ambient works that month, and after that, I just started buying as many ambient records as possible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:07pm northguineahills:

This Monolake was the 2nd to last album I listened to before leaving Brookln 3 weeks ago..
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:09pm Jesse K:

It's a great album for liminal space. What was the last one?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:15pm northguineahills:

I believe it was Fairport Convention "Liege and Leif".
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:16pm northguineahills:

Driving at 3am down small rural roads from Jacksonville to Gainesville made this a fun driving soundtrack the summer after my freshmen year in college.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:19pm Jesse K:

This show is kind of based on a driving experience I had this summer of driving into Amarillo after a really long day of driving. We were both super worn out and looking for a koa that we had reservations for and feeling kind of low but then we found hearts of space on the radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:46pm northguineahills:

Can't wait until I can set up my turntables. Just have small speakers hooked up to my laptop for the time being.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:49pm Jesse K:

I think most music now is mastered for laptop speakers
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:52pm northguineahills:

I just have mini 6" speakers, can't stand laptop speakers. I have my 15"s in the garage.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 9:52pm geezerette:

Thanks Jesse, great music! Always dig the art too, not least your own!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:53pm northguineahills:

I gotta run, thanks for a great set, Jesse!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 9:55pm Jesse K:

thanks y'all!
  Tue. 10/18/16 10:43am Pau:

Hi Jesse, what a beautiful set! could you ID the one you play on 01:03:00 onwards? I find it difficult to identificate it with the tracklist. Thanks a lot in advanced
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 10/18/16 10:58am Jesse K:

Hey Pau, thanks! The first hour is just those two songs by Ambiant Otaku and Electro Harmonix so the second hour starts off with the Atom Heart track. Hope that helps!
