"independant"?
  Tue. 9/20/16 12:07pm JtotheK:

Hi Tony! Good day everyone.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:07pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, βrian!

Yep, that's how they spell "independent." I just tell it as I see it....
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:07pm Tony Coulter:

Hola, JtotheK!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 9/20/16 12:11pm Carmichael:

Hey now. Tony! Can you send us some rain down here? we're in a post-summer heat wave ....
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:13pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, Carmichael!

We've been getting less rain than usual too, so I'm going to be greedy and hold on to it all.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:19pm Mayuko:

Good afternoon Tony and everyone!

Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:33pm Doug Schulkind:

@Mayuko
The gif on your playlist last night was GORGEOUS. (The music was very handsome as well.)
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:34pm Tony Coulter:

Greets, Doug Doug!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:35pm Tony Coulter:

"War-swaw"?
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:36pm Mayuko:

Thank you Doug!!! Too bad I couldn't find who made the gif... & thank you for helping me providing detailed information on the comment!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:40pm Mayuko:

Tony, is that blue leather case looking object the cover of the cassette tape? Looks pretty good but wondering how the tape gets stored in there.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:44pm Tony Coulter:

Yep -- that's the cover. I removed the cassette for the photo because it lumpifies the cover, making the text harder to read. The cassette goes under the flap on the right -- the whole thing is a pouch or pocket.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:47pm Tony Coulter:

The cover was designed by Deborah Jaffe of Master/Slave Relationship.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:48pm Tony Coulter:

The lip of the flap is just to the right of the ring hole.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:49pm Mayuko:

I see, interesting. Aging might have made the design look even better I imagine.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:49pm Tony Coulter:

I mean, just to the left!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 12:49pm Tony Coulter:

... of the ring hole....
  Tue. 9/20/16 12:58pm Dean:

I would buy a record called "... of the ring hole ..."
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:00pm Tony Coulter:

Heya, Dean!

The Way of the Ring Hole. What's more important: the ring ... or the ring hole?
  Tue. 9/20/16 1:02pm Dean:

Put it this way: I would not buy a record called "... of the donut hole ..."
  Tue. 9/20/16 1:05pm βrian:

Through which grows the ringworm ...
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:05pm Tony Coulter:

How about "Lord of the Ring Holes"?
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:07pm listener james from westwood:

The evil circus is in town! (It's never not in some town. Some unlucky town.)
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:07pm still b/p:

Remember when Lorne Greene sang,
"But on his grave they can't explain
The tarnished star above the name of Ring Hole"...?
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:10pm Webhamster Henry:

I'm tuning in for the next K7!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:11pm Tony Coulter:

Hey ho, still b/p and Webhamster Henry!!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:31pm geezerette:

Howdy Tony & y'all. :D
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:32pm Tony Coulter:

Greetings, geezerette!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:36pm Tony Coulter:

So, as you will have noticed by now, much of this cassette is sort of an '80s cassette-underground take on '60s psychedelia.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:37pm V Priceless:

cool stuff
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:44pm Tony Coulter:

This track is a bit Silver Apple-ish.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:48pm Tony Coulter:

Hmm -- interesting. Discogs tells me that Sound Colour were from Tacoma (sort of my neck of the woods these days).
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:51pm Tony Coulter:

Das Organisierte Chaos was an offshoot of the band Circles: www.discogs.com...
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:54pm geezerette:

Yeah it definitely sounds like both decades.
  Tue. 9/20/16 1:55pm Dean:

Pacific 231 (by Honegger) was the '20s.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:59pm Tony Coulter:

I suspect the Algy Krebbs Quartet (on now) were an offshoot of Proof of Utah. They're on the same small label anyhow (Smiley Turtle).
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 1:59pm geezerette:

Dean I'll see if I can find the original.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:03pm listener james from westwood:

Music's a bloody delight today! Very good for plowing through long, poorly formatted bibliographies.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:04pm Tony Coulter:

Glad to hear it, LJ! Plow away....
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:05pm Tony Coulter:

I'm assuming Spongehead Experience = Spongehead (the Shimmy Disc band)
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:09pm still b/p:

Who needs facebook? Those last guys were providing the same sort of interesting narratives/updates three decades ago.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:11pm Tony Coulter:

You mean the Spongehead boys? At least they weren't showing you pictures of what they ate.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:12pm Tony Coulter:

As mentioned, Brian Ladd is one half of Psyclones.
  Tue. 9/20/16 2:39pm Dean:

Went to the dentist this morning. This Dog As Master is inspiring fond memories.
  Tue. 9/20/16 2:40pm Dean:

"Lean a little to your left and open wider, please."
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:40pm Tony Coulter:

Glad to be of service....
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:49pm Tony Coulter:

Don't forget to rinse out your mouth when the tape is over....
  Tue. 9/20/16 2:57pm JtotheK:

Enjoyed the program, thanks Tony!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:58pm Tony Coulter:

Yur Welkum, JtotheK!
  Tue. 9/20/16 2:58pm Dean:

Great band name: Lavoris.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:58pm northguineahills:

Dog as Master is very dig-worthy. Missed a lot of today's show due to internet problems.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 2:59pm listener james from westwood:

Many thanks, Tony!
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 3:01pm Webhamster Henry:

Thanks Tony! - now to put on one of my own cassettes.
Avatar Tue. 9/20/16 3:02pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks, every ear & eye -- er, everybody -- see you next week!!
