Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am Doug Schulkind:

The farmer's daughter is my executive producer.
  9:15am Lore:

@Doug re stage names of old time blues artists: Peanut the Kidnapper is also up there, I think, as is the enigmatic Freezone.
Avatar 9:16am chromaphone:

Doug, I am back in school too actually to get certified as a teacher, and last summer I just had to keep my head down and slog through it. Kind of sucked and still haven't gotten a new job but will pay off soon hopefully.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am Doug Schulkind:

@Lore
Peanut the Kidnapper loses on alliteration, but wins on evocative mental imagery.

@chromaphone
G'luck to you, Sir.
Avatar 9:19am chromaphone:

Avatar 9:20am chromaphone:

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:20am Brian in UK:

Doug, I had to study about eightenn years ago to be an Industrial Engineer. Not easy, gets your arse twitching sometimes especially as there are 'youngsters' in the class. Once you find a groove it will draw you in. Not a question of talent but application.

The voice quality of flamenco singers always interests me. I asked a guy who sang with a local flamenco ensemble about how he achieved and maintained that very particular sound. He said his previous years singing everything from screaming punk to varied things in Cerberus Shoal had pushed and practiced and prepped the pipes.

Avatar 10:30am Little Danny:

That drum track!
Avatar 10:30am Little Danny:

More of a black widow kinda summer alas Doug
Avatar 10:31am Flash Strap:

Boy we used to have to do that in Mexico. Hit paydirt more than twice but never got stung. They love waiting for you in the shower too
Avatar 10:32am Little Danny:

Except for the occasional vinegaroon (ugh), the scorpions we have here are actually kinda cute - tiny little guys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am Doug Schulkind:

I know folks in New Mexico who have black widows all over. I know a gal in North Carolina with brown recluses all over.

Get me outta here.
Avatar 10:34am ausmanx:

it's the Funnel Webs you gotta watch out for down here... they like the sleeves of your jackets
Avatar 10:35am Flash Strap:

oh man, vinegaroons. what a specimen

the worst thing, in those ol Mex days, was all the tarantula drop-bys. They'd just sidle up and scare the daylights out of you, looking like a disembodied hand in a black silk glove
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am melinda:

My sister was stung by a scorpion hiding in a pair of jeans.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am melinda:

Avatar 10:37am Little Danny:

I've never been repelled by tarantulas the way some are. Certain years they can seen crossing ranch roads around here by the hundreds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38am melinda:

Also like the Augustus Pablo talkover music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38am Doug Schulkind:

Just like the worm, Little Danny, the vibe will turn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39am Doug Schulkind:

Dylany yes, Leonardo. And this is even more so.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:39am Uncle Michael:

It's always so weird when Dylan's singing voice sounds like his speaking voice.
Avatar 10:40am Flash Strap:

I love em too, but I jump like a nut when they show up next to me on the couch.

They really are the coolest creatures though
Avatar 10:40am mauri:

Oops I forgot headphones in the running shorts pocket which went through washing machine. Damn.
Avatar 10:41am Little Danny:

Townes van Zandt nicked a bit of Dylan's groove here
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:41am Brian in UK:

Those butchers boys are trouble.
Avatar 10:42am Flash Strap:

Self Portrait is so good. Really good to hear this
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:43am Brian in UK:

@Little Danny ever hear Dylan tell a cheesy joke like Townes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am Doug Schulkind:

I kid I knew back in college worked at the local grocery store. (It was called Fazio's, but we called it Price Fixio's because the company got busted for price fixing.) Anyway, this kid worked in produce. One day, a tarantula came spilling out of a banana sack, and he took the critter home as a pet.

Get me outta here.
Avatar 10:44am Little Danny:

God I love the Charlie Tweddle album so much
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am Doug Schulkind:

@Little Danny
Was close to including Townes in this set, but it seemed too literal. (As I said, the wormvibe will be turning.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am Doug Schulkind:

Charlie Tweddle is a maker of hats now, if I remember correctly.
Avatar 10:45am chromaphone:

Who allowed the liquor in the recording studio?
Avatar 10:45am Little Danny:

That is indeed correct Doug
Avatar 10:46am still b/p:

Just like the song say-o: "Beautiful bunch of ripe banana, hide the deadly black tarantula."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am Doug Schulkind:

The pigeon brought the liquor in, chromaphone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am coelacanth:
