There were all these fairly real toy pistols back then branded for Kojak, Columbo, and some other TV cops, and my friends and I all had one, used to play cops and robbers at recess. Can you imagine that today? Whole school would be on lockdown and attempts to press adult charges. And one of my fondest childhood memories was climbing the wobbly monkey bars in a local playground with that guy and we would all play this game which was basically, “Let’s rock these rickety monkey bars until someone falls off and lands face first on the hard rubber in the playground.” Ah, youth! Such innocence!
