Wow, that Zappa thing is interesting.
It is breaking down by age - the two youngest are trying to control the two oldest. And wow, Mom repossessing your guitars? I know Frank was a control freak, but I don't know if he would approve of that.

Last of the asparagus eaten yesterday, near the end of the rhubarb, but the pea-pods are imminent. Good crop of strawberries. Agree with BiUK, anything you grow is better...

@Polyus: Yes, he gets so Knopfleresque at the end of that cut! I had to go for the sultans!

Some local growers have taken on ginger here. It takes some doing, because basically you have to create a passive sauna.

I made a pretty delicious tangerine and ginger marmalade a few weeks ago from my neighbor's tangerine tree and store bought ginger and sugar. Only two jars left. Wish I had enough for everybody.

Rejoining the throng. I see that there was a thread on Zappa a bit back. I saw the trailer for the new Zappa doc ("Eat That Question") at Film Forum yesterday, and it looks like, well, pretty much exactly what you would expect.

Brian there are some farmers here in Maine growing ginger and turmeric too. The fresh ginger is quite pretty.

@Brian: I don't know! He played guitar nice (but not as nice as Richard Thompson), sang a bit like Dylan, wrote a few nice tunes. Why "Brothers in Arms" is one of the best-selling albums ever is a puzzle to me.
