Drusilla all the way, yours?

either Andrew or Harmony ... though Drusilla sure is annoying; I probably give her points for being at least a Goth chick....

SiHV I hope you have a chance to raid the Amoeba metal section—don't forget tapes!

Whatever happens with Gop, well always have metal. thank god.

I'm here! My favorite is Oz, yours?
Avatar 12:27am

They can't take our metal away! ...though I'm not sure we have god to thank ...

Ooh Oz, the perfect werewolf boyfriend! ...I guess mine is Angelus...SO EVIL.
Avatar 12:29am

I guess he cheated with that werewolf skank band girl, so not totally "perfect" ... Tara was better for Willow, not counting the death & all.

My Buffy conversation: Like Radiohead in the 1990s, I don’t care about Buffy.

i'm not qualified to say. i've seen it 10-15 times (which is a lot for me) and i had some favorites, but the last time was around 8 years ago and i'd have to look up the names, which i wont do right now.

Loved Buffy. But The Master wasn't even the best TV show archenemy called The Master, let alone a favorite Buffy character.
Avatar 12:48am

I never really watched Buffy. I did however sink two hours last weekend into watching recent Doctor Who. And what a fucking waste of time.

my fav episode of Buffy was that one where no one could speak though I never finished watching the series

@BronwynBishop: I think Sarah Michelle Gellar was hot. So there you go!

Fairuza Balk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56am

if willow was the one with reddish hair, me too. that's probably the only reason i gave the show a chance...not being much of a tv guy. i didn't see Buffy's beauty right away.
Avatar 12:57am

Moonspawn good. Carry on.
  12:57am
Ike:

Dr. Who has lots of ups and downs in quality. Watch "The Doctor's Wife" (by Neil Gaiman). Lots of rubbish episodes too though.
Avatar 12:57am

Just saw Fairuza Balk in that Richard Stanley documentary...she's a handsome woman, very attractive.

The Doctor's Wife scared the crap out of me! Hate Amy...Kill Amy...Die Amy...

JakeGould:

The only Dr. Who is Tom Baker. Period. I don’t want to hear about any of these new Doctors. Also the Daleks are the only villains ever. Period. Screw the Cybermen and anything else new.
  1:02am
Ike:

That's the one that got me into Buffy. I couldn't resist the concept of Ritter as a robot villain. Good stuff.
  1:04am
Ike:

Now I know you're trolling us, Jake. The Daleks were barely in the Tom Baker years. Get outta town you joker.
Avatar 1:05am
SiHV:

JakeGould: Yes.
  1:08am
JakeGould:

@Ike: Unlike you children of today I watched Dr. Who the way it was meant to be watched: Randomly/sporadically on WOR Channel 9 when there was nothing else to do on a weekend afternoon. Here is Tom Baker hanging out with Daleks. FACE! ia.media-imdb.com...

@SiHV: Sarah Jane Smith. Who else? NOBODY. Also K-9.
  1:12am
Ike:

Leela! Savage companion (of Tom Baker!).
Avatar 1:13am
SiHV:

No man. Leela. I have a trope for the ass-kicker girls.
  1:15am
Bklyn kid:

I recall k9 from the comic book. Doc overthrew the purple aliens usurping Caesar. Never could stomach the tv show.
  1:16am
Ike:

Nice Dalek promo shot, Jake. It's not from an episode though. "Genesis of the Daleks" is a classic but barely has any Daleks in it. "Destiny of the Daleks" is rubbish. Most pathetic Daleks ever.
Avatar 1:16am

Emma Peel: Also an ass-kicker girl.

I could complain about how the hotel i'm in has no room service and i'm too lazy to go out and get any food.
Avatar 1:23am
slugluv1313:

i may have seen a few episodes of Buffy, same with Dr. Who (although i do remember when Dr. Who was on channel 9!) guess i just never got into either of them
now "The Avengers," hell yeah! one of my Mom's (few) favorite shows (she was not a huge TV watcher either)
Emma Peel: BEYOND kick-ass COOL! a HUGE early influence/inspiration, way more than those other unfortunately silly/wimpy female characters back then . . .
Avatar 1:24am

Or comment on the lifestyles of the super-wealthy in San Francisco in apartment high-rises across from me. They all seem to be watching things on their very big TVs.

@Arvo you know you're an 80s kid when ...
  1:31am
Arvo:

I never watched Twilight Zone or The Munsters in their color rehashes. At least give me that.

I did watch Tales from the Crypt and Friday The 13th (the show), but did not watch Twin Peaks.

I'm just on favorite characters because I didn't watch the Buffy show at all. I do remember the movie.

I did watch the Outer Limits in color, still prefer the black and white version.
  1:33am
JakeGould:

“Space: 1999” anyone?

i really like this.

Wm.:

Thanks yes, this impressed me right away. Heard it earlier in the record library for the first time, jumped online & bought a copy. $ is always tight but when your hear something you've gotta have you know pretty immediately, or at least I do. Midwich (label) did all kinds of crazy great releases this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41am
coelacanth:

i'll check out their stuff for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48am
coelacanth:

midwich is on bandcamp. different midwich i guess...looks like a guy or a band. i bookmarked it anyway, since i trust serendipity to some degree.
i've got the label's site up now.
Avatar 2:51am
Wm.:

It doesn't appear that Midwich is doing digital-file sales, but if you buy any release ($20 a pop, but all pretty damn good) you get a download code with the vinyl. I believe they are headquartered in Michigan.

Wm. i'm sure you remember Paul Cavenaugh. (sp?) -i used to record lots of his shows, but often ruthlessly edit them to save tape. he had a lot of fun butchering the back-announce so as meticulous as i was, i still have lots of question marks on those tapes.
...you just identified one song for me. prime mover.
Thank you!

The Moon Pool and Dead Band 2LP is great, another of my 2015 hits...Magas, too. And their upcoming stuff looks super-interesting.

Funny story, Paul and I grew up across the street from one another in West Orange, NJ, but it was a wide street, we went to different schools, and never met until WFMU. One of our legendary punk shows tbs. Paul's "Mouthpiece" cassette was also a favorite on my old Lo-Fi segment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57am
coelacanth:

oh damn! that sound hazily familiar.
