I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Wow, I love Otto Luening! I got this comp a millennia ago (1999ish)
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:03pm Charlie:

Hi Mayuko! I'm able to stop by for a while today.
Yes the Ohm box is great.
Avatar Mon. 9/14/15 5:05pm northguineahills:

I guess it was 2000, so not quite a millenia ago.
  Mon. 9/14/15 5:05pm Dave B:

Pretty chill, Mayuko. Hope the art intervention was a success.

I'm all Tokyo'd out. Two sets of friends visited over the past two weeks! Good times, good friends, good food, good drinks!

@Dave YAY! You won't be sorry (hopefully).
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:40pm Charlie:

This has been a mesmerizing first set so far . . .
Avatar Mon. 9/14/15 5:41pm northguineahills:

Wow, this is an amazing set. I wish I didn't have to go in a few minutes. Superb, Mayuko!
Avatar Mon. 9/14/15 5:43pm Dervish:

They make be fake forests, but they are very real fake forests.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/14/15 5:44pm Uncle Michael:

Good afternoon.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:44pm Mayuko:

Thanks, Charlie and northguineahills! Today I picked the tracks I want to listen to in that Hall of North American Forests of the museum if I could spend a night in there. I wish they allowed me to do that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/14/15 5:45pm Uncle Michael:

Is this a radio diorama?
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:45pm maestroso:

Hello Mayuko, I'm just tuning in from Tokyo (just woke up). It's 6:44 am and looks like a lovely day, like yesterday. I had to say hi before it's too late!
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:46pm Mayuko:

That's the best compliment, Uncle Michael!! Dervish, that's so true, they look so real it drives me crazy sometimes.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:47pm Charlie:

Hi Uncle Michael.
Mayuko -- I think the museum should let you program music in those halls.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:48pm Charlie:

Which reminds me, I read once that some airport actually played Brian Eno's Music for Airports and people complained.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:48pm Mayuko:

ohhh, ohayo maestroso! glad you got there after the typhoon! seemed like it was a huge mess last week.
Avatar Mon. 9/14/15 5:48pm Doug Schulkind:

Somebody here is really playing vertigo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 5:49pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Years ago, I had a 6:00AM flight out of Newark. I set up my sleeping bag behind an unused ticket counter and spent the night there. Kind of a similar hallway and with a hard, cold floor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/14/15 5:49pm Uncle Michael:

Mayuko, we could call you Ma Radio. It's an anagram of diorama.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:49pm maestroso:

Yes, all is well at least around the city. Had a bird's-eye look from Skytree yesterday, wow, so spectacular!
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:50pm Mayuko:

Charlie, that's so cool! Would be great if Give the Drummer DJs can throw that event rather than just me doing it! But that's hilarious that people didn't enjoy Eno. That could be the consequence for me too if I do it alone.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:51pm Mayuko:

Doug, Joseph Hammer always does that to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 5:51pm Polyus:

Alright Mayuko, glad to see you got a weekly show! Much deserved.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:52pm Mayuko:

Would be a wonderful experience, Ken, if you could spend some time in such place by yourself and play music loud in such acoustic environment. I can see that being dreamy.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:52pm Charlie:

@Doug, I think you should program music for the museum's hall of peoples or whatever they call it.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 5:53pm Mayuko:

Welcome on board, Polyus! Thanks for your kind words!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/14/15 5:55pm Carmichael:

Hey there, Mayuko. I have the Ohm box as well. Bought it in Goodwill many years ago for about $2.00. Go figure ...

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:04pm steve:

Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:05pm Charlie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:05pm coelacanth:

...but somehow not painful.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:08pm Charlie:

Dieter Moebius gave us so much great music.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:09pm maestroso:

Awesome, Mayuko, I guess you have another hour! My time sense is still awry...
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:13pm Mayuko:

  Mon. 9/14/15 6:16pm JakeGould:

Hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:17pm coelacanth:

this time slot is generally not good for me,unfortunately.
- but i'll try!
[maybe in the winter when i'm working inside...]
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:18pm Ken From Hyde Park:

It's an odd feeling to walk around the Saguaro cactus desert in Arizona. It's like having giant, silent people all over watching you pass by on the trail.
Avatar Mon. 9/14/15 6:19pm Doug Schulkind:

My wife's previous boyfriend is an anthropologist and ethnomusicologist who used to be on staff at the American Museum of Natural History. In 2013 he was a panelist, along with Ken Freedman, at the Audio Engineering Society convention. The subject was: "WFMU's Adventures in 24/7 Archiving: Using On-Demand Programs and Crowd-Sourced Metadata to Grow a Radio Audience."
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:21pm Charlie:

Gotta go now. Thanks, Mayuko!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/14/15 6:21pm Uncle Michael:

And it works!
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:22pm Mayuko:

Thanks Charlie, bye! Hello JakeGould, welcome on board! That's too bad but there is always archives for you, coelacanth!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/14/15 6:22pm Carmichael:

@Ken: I lived in Tucson for awhile, and I have a picture of a friend standing next to a saguaro. I always have to point her out, the cactus is so huge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:25pm coelacanth:

yes they're impressive. i have a postcard with a photograph of a car being crushed by a fallen saguaro. "Welcome to Arizona!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:25pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Charmichael - They're heavy, too. www.threestarowl.com...
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:26pm Mayuko:

ahh, I'd love to see them, Ken, Carmichael. I saw them in Arizona only a long time ago when I was little. All I see now are make-believe in the glass cases.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:26pm Mayuko:

That Audio Engineering Society convention thing sounds interesting, Doug, I will look into that after the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:28pm coelacanth:

Ha! there it is!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/14/15 6:29pm Carmichael:

Now you have to play a song by Cactus. (Just kidding, please don't!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:30pm steve:

i have this song on this great new wavey compilation LP "Tokyo Mobile Music". totally forgot about it.
Avatar    Mon. 9/14/15 6:32pm Mayuko:

uh oh, the cd was skipping and acting weird, sorry bout that everyone.
  Mon. 9/14/15 6:33pm JakeGould:

WFMU is flawless! No skipping ever!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:34pm coelacanth:

- or "cactus" by the pixies.(my favourite pixies' song)...but, no.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 9/14/15 6:35pm steve:
