I feel like this song can be appreciated by believers and nonbelievers alike, but in two completely different ways.
Avatar 1:56pm d¢ pät:

Why didn't he just name this Zombie Jew? ... just read Nate K's comment, maybe that's why it's not..

  2:32pm phat:

  2:37pm phat:

Dwight doesn't make a lot of mistakes, either.
Avatar 2:38pm d¢ pät:

yeah, this is a solid cover.
  2:43pm Hackensack Slim:

Hey Joe,
Fine show, today, as always. Going to see a band I know nothing about, this evening. Soul Asylum. Any opinion, one way or the other, TCM'ers.
Avatar 2:44pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Hackensack Slim: First time I saw Soul Asylum in 1985 (I think) opening for Husker Du @ Columbia University they did a great cover of Neil Young's "Looking For A Love" (from Zuma). Maybe you should request it tonight.
Avatar 2:46pm Tomophobic Tom:

Tom from Detroit here....
Avatar 2:46pm Joe B:

I only saw them circa 1986 because ben vaughn combo opened for them at City Gardens!
Avatar 2:46pm d¢ pät:

Never gave Dwight the time of day but that cover is making me rethink the whole damn thing..

@Hackensack: not really my cup of tea but all my pals went to see Soul Asylum with the Pups last Thursday and they said it was killer. Not a lot of people showed up. I dig some of their tunes, but kind of tired of seeing groups that have been around for over 20 years...
Avatar 2:48pm Joe B:

i dont get tired of seeing groups for 20 years as long as their act is not tired!
  2:51pm Hackensack Slim:

@TOPT Thanks Todd. If they won't play that one, I can always request the new Trump campaign theme that Joe played earlier. (Piece of Crap)
Avatar 2:51pm d¢ pät:

I guess that's what I meant JoeB. I've seen Meat Puppets about 5 times and don't need to see them anymore.
Avatar 2:52pm Tomophobic Tom:

I have always considered Soul Asylum one of my very favorite bands. Seen em many times in many places. Dave Pirner is an amazing performer, the Mats/Soul Asylum connection is well established (that's Pirner yelling "f-- you, man" at the cops [for real!] in the "this is the Minneapolis Police" at the beginning of kids don't follow). I remember seeing them in Ann Arbor with like, nobody there, in the early 80s. They'd be on the road most of a generation before they broke the mainstream. Long way to the top indeed!
Avatar 2:53pm d¢ pät:

Just that there are a billion new groups I want to see and am more interested in checking them out. For instance, I haven't got to see Blind Shake yet! They never come through here.
Avatar 2:55pm Claw!:

@d¢ pät - They came through Rock n Roll Hotel with Jon Reis sometime in the Winter, and they were amazing!
Avatar 2:55pm d¢ pät:

Dang it. Guess I wasn't around then. How come I'm not around??
