"The Gaz" is a translation of the name of the Czech band Plyn, who, because they were banned by the government, changed their name to Dybbuk in 1983. Dybbuk eventually morphed into Zuby Nehty (featuring the same four core members), and played at WFMU in 2010. | |

I gotta add the Dutch Rhythm record to my 'look for' list, nothing but great cover songs listed, and what outfits! www.discogs.com... |

![]() I think pisstake punk covers were necessary back in the day, but now there are just too many "stunt covers" for my liking. |

![]() I love steel drum and these guys are amazing. |
![]() |
![]() This set would make a great compilation disc. Hear that go-getting indie labels? |
![]() |
![]() I remember this song! I hate this song, but he makes it good. |
![]() |
![]() damnnn loving some of these covers.. esp. this syl johnson.. killing it. |
![]() |
![]() If you have a chance to hear Junior Parker's "Tomorrow Never Knows," do it. That cover is amazing. |

ChrisB. The licensing would be a complete nightmare. Dozens of publishers for huge tunes. Mad $$$ for publishing. The ONLY way you could pull it off is an MFN step-deal and that even would be tough with so many a-list writers. |

Cecile. Yes, that's another route. Still have to track down all the writers, their shares, their approvals, their publishers or administrators, negotiate, mechanical licenses, etc. |

![]() Any of these covers come out before the originals? |

![]() true, biased. And I'm not the one to do it. But the one who perseveres will have done some great work. |

![]() Eight stars in a row, feel like a cartoon character just hit on the head, the stars going round and round. Thanks, Joe. See ya later. |
![]() |
![]() slug, I was going to say that, but then again Fabio might just play it. He plays it a lot. |
