I was hoping somebody had been dumping out something fun like a bunch of rotting pandan-flavored stuff (pandan leaf is always a weird-looking unnatural green color). But another FMU listener suggested it was probably just antifreeze. Sigh. She's probably right. But that's boring. I say it was a PANDAN LEAF MONSTER!

Agreed, L.A. sounds awful. Never actually been there but who wants to be stuck in traffic all the time? And as a long-time TV addict, I'm sooooo over L.A. filming locations. They're all played out. Glad so much stuff has moved to NYC.

Very soothing sounds. Hi Jonathan. Hi greatest listeners in the world.
Avatar 3:40am

An interviewer once asked Werner Herzog why he had moved to LA. He replied, " for the same reason the bank robber goes to the bank..... It's where the money is".
Avatar 3:43am
Jherweg:

Good Morning mugsy......I love a lot of Werner Herzog movies,,, but man does he take himself way too seriously.....

That "My Best Fiend" documentary is so sick.

The Kinski-Herzog box set is great.

Ha ha, Herzog is a fucking international treasure. I love that he looks at a perfectly ordinary jungle and says, "the trees here are in misery and the birds are in misery -- I don't think they sing, they just screech in pain." Ooookay, Werner!

i first stumbled upon hearing this radio station when you aired my friend mina karimi (which was like a year ago or two?) but I didn't start listening to the playlist archives until a few weeks ago I have listened to every single one, so good!

The great ecstasy of wood carver Steiner is incredible. the slow-mo scenes of Walter Steiner flying down the ski slope with the eerie Popol Vuh music is haunting.

On the night that Ian Curtis committed suicide, he told his friends he was staying in to watch a Werner Herzog film that was showing on BBC2. Stroszek. Herzog killed Ian Curtis!

I think the first scene of Fata Morgana is hilarious. Werner Herzog does not.
