Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 12:01pm Tony Coulter:

Hey there, James and Doug! Today's show will be extra ... um ... weird.

Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 12:14pm Tony Coulter:

Thrift stores are still a good place to find demo tapes like this Strong Heart thing. I imagine they end up getting dumped by the people they were sent to, who maybe never even listened to them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 1/20/15 12:20pm bobdoesthings:

good afternoon
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 12:20pm Tony Coulter:

Whoa. This is real gold
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 12:22pm Tony Coulter:

Greets, Flash Strap! Gold it is. Mutant gold.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 1/20/15 12:24pm bobdoesthings:

I love the german shepherd art work on the first tape!
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 12:24pm Flash Strap:

That alternating fx guitar!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 1/20/15 12:36pm bobdoesthings:

So Tony, you found this in a thrift store?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/20/15 12:36pm Carmichael:

Heya Tony and weirdos.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 12:36pm Tony Coulter:

@ bobdoesthings: I did. In Brooklyn, around 10 years ago.

Hula Hola, Carmichael!

Avatar    Tue. 1/20/15 12:44pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

What in tarnation is going on in here?
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 12:54pm Tony Coulter:

Greets, Turnip! Very good question. If only I knew the answer!
Avatar    Tue. 1/20/15 1:08pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Based on the evidence, it seems we all had the same drum machine in 1993.
Avatar    Tue. 1/20/15 1:08pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Not a bad thing, obvioose.

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 1/20/15 1:19pm bobdoesthings:

Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 1:20pm Tony Coulter:

Interesting! So the Sheik does exist on this earthly plane.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 1:20pm Tony Coulter:

See ya, bobdoesthings!
Avatar    Tue. 1/20/15 1:23pm listener james from westwood:

Diggin' the hiss at the near halfway mark!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/20/15 1:24pm Carmichael:

In Miami, apparently.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 1:34pm Tony Coulter:

I sincerely hope no one suffers irreparable brain damage as a result of exposure to today's cassettes.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 1:37pm Rich in Washington:

Stupid work schedule makes listening damn near impossible. DAMN IT!
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 1:39pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, Rich! Sorry you're not able to shake your pongi.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 1:44pm Rich in Washington:

This is nuts. Able to listen for a while but never know for how long. Maybe I'll just crank it up and ignore everyone.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 1:49pm Tony Coulter:

Crank it up. Before you know it, you'll have the office to yourself.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 1:59pm Doug Schulkind:

@Tony Coulter
Darn you! You see, you are making it impossible for me to fade you down and work on my own show. A show that is airing in only four hours. (Only three hours from when your show ends and I can finally get to work.)
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:03pm Tony Coulter:

Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:15pm Rich in Washington:

Wonder what happened to Weird Paul?
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:16pm northguineahills:

I knew a guy that performed as Bouzouki that sounded like Sheik Al-Beli Movement in FL in '94, but I'd imagine I'd known if he had used that moniker.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:17pm Tony Coulter:

@ Rich: Weird Paul is actually still around! He has a youtube channel now.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:18pm Rich in Washington:

Oh! That dude! I just saw a video of him reviewing some tech thing. What was it?
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:22pm Tony Coulter:

Calls himself "the original vlogger." Here's his channel: www.youtube.com...
Avatar    Tue. 1/20/15 2:24pm listener james from westwood:

That's one way to dodge rhyming "Atari."
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:25pm Tony Coulter:

Rhyming it with itself, you mean? Indeed!
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:31pm Tony Coulter:

I love his scratching.
Avatar    Tue. 1/20/15 2:33pm listener james from westwood:

Alice Cooper had already taken "We can't think of a word that rhymes!"
I remember after I first heard scratching, I looked in my room for my childhood record player, to no avail. I did have a "Love Potion No. 9" 45 I was going to sacrifice to the cause.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:38pm Tony Coulter:

IMO, 'Weird Paul" is actually the least weird of today's three artists/groups. He was a pretty clever and funny teen, if you ask me.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:39pm Tony Coulter:

Or let's say his weirdness was more self aware.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:49pm Tony Coulter:

On next week's show: "Normal Paul."
Avatar    Tue. 1/20/15 2:56pm listener james from westwood:

Thanks, Tony!
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:57pm Tony Coulter:

Yer welcome, James!
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:57pm Doug Schulkind:

What a great show.
Avatar Tue. 1/20/15 2:58pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks, D!! And thanks for showing up everyone!!! See you next week....
