Hiya, disembodied Dave.
Avatar 6:18am
Dave Bombay:

Bonjour Sem! I am present both in body and in studio today.
Avatar 6:26am
Sem Chumbo:

Hey, man, thought you might have had the day off.
Good to hear you live today.
Avatar 6:28am
Dave Bombay:

I am happy to be here! You gotta end the year strong.
Avatar 6:31am
Sem Chumbo:

That Ya Ho Wa 13 was, ah, too far out to even be satire:-). Now, the Trashmen make me want to revisit the past, darkly, through a little windowpane.
Avatar 6:31am
ausmanx:

ah well, good to hear you live, sir, but i'm leaving work early now so will investigate on the archive. this Trashmen doesn't sound mid-60s at all! evening, Sem... and a happy new year Mr Bombey, as it'll be 2015 when next we meet
Avatar 6:33am
Sem Chumbo:

Have a good evening, ausmanx, see ya next year! Sure envy your summer, thx for bringing that up;-D
  6:35am
Jan:

Hey, I am listening from Berlin. Love the Trashmen track!
  6:37am
Stanley:

Hi Dave and Sem. The day after Christmas, suffering from a rotten cold and a hangover.
  6:38am
Cooh John:

Good morning Dave and Sem. Great stuff to end the year with. Looking forward to 2015.
Avatar 6:39am
Mugsy:

Mornin' Bombay and greetings to all on the board.
Avatar 6:41am
Dave Bombay:

Hey Gang! I am glad you're here! I need someone to eat all these leftovers.
Avatar 6:42am
Dave Bombay:

@jan - hows berlin these days?
@stanley - that means you did it right
Avatar 6:43am
Sem Chumbo:

Hey, Stanley, Cooh John!
Rough going, Stanley. Perhaps hair of the dog is bad advice, but it is your hangover, not mine:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46am
fred:

Guten TZAG Dave and knuckleheads
  6:46am
Jan:

Hi Dave, Berlin is quite abandoned at the moment, as many people are not from here and went home for Christmas. But we had some snow in the morning !
  6:49am
Stanley:

@Sem - dare of the hog? On second thoughts a big breakfast and a walk in the cold country air (or a lie down).
Keep it mellow, Dave
Avatar 6:51am
Dave Bombay:

@ jan - same in NYC
@ stanley - ill do what i can
@ fred - Guten Tzag!

Stanley tongue sandwiches?

Sem you will not believe this but one of the presents I got yesterday was a poire William eau de vie WITH the poire inside. How odd after you wrote about it earlier this week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11am
Brian in UK:

What-ho Dave.
Avatar 7:11am
Sem Chumbo:

@Stanley: hahaa! Both the walk and the lie down seem, of course, like the adult remedy. I looked up Eskdalemuir to confirm your (boast?) about its crappy weather. Almost as bad as St. John's, Newfoundland. Condolences.
Avatar 7:12am
Dave Bombay:

@brian in UK - Im not sure of the correct response, but good day none the less!
Avatar 7:13am
Sem Chumbo:

@BrianiUK: the gods move in very mysterious ways. Wonderful for you, naturally. Perhaps Stanley might enjot a nip about now:-P
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14am
Brian in UK:

I would prescribe for Stanley a fryup, gentle exercise and light beveraging.
Avatar 7:19am
Sem Chumbo:

Ah, *light beveraging*, in this case I approve of verbing the noun. Though a fry-up---and I have had breakfasts from Kingston, near Lewes, all the way to Pitlochry and Nairn-- seems to me might be the cause of distress rather than a bally cure.
Avatar 7:20am
Dave Bombay:

I could use a good fry up. And a dirty cup of coffee.
  7:22am
Stanley:

Hi Brian, thanks for the advice. As it happens I've just scoffed a cheese and tomato toastie, made on my brilliant new machine and it's done the trick. Looks like I'll be going back to my student days!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25am
Brian in UK:

Sem Discovered an early example of nouning the adjective. The term 'documentary image' soon became the noun documentary from 1926, John Grierson.
Avatar 7:26am
Sem Chumbo:

These spins are coinciding with the sun just rising into a clear blue sky here, Dave: feel like the ape who picked up the bone at the foot of the monolith. Marvelous music for this time and place, Head Knucklehead!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28am
Brian in UK:

I love the way Humphrey Bogart calls someone a sap. Cannot remember the film. Knucklehead or sap?
  7:29am
Stanley:

Actually, if I was back in Edinburgh, a trip to the pub would be in order, just now. But no such luck out here. @Sem - wow, that's a lot of fried breakfasts. Didn't know you spent time over here.
Avatar 7:30am
Sem Chumbo:

Maltese Falcon: *I won't play the sap for you" To the femme fatale, when she tries to work her magic on him and he lets her know he sees through her stratagem.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33am
Brian in UK:

Wow, that's impressive. Sem. I could take some old black 'n white films now. Oh some Marx Brothers. The Sanity Clause.
  7:36am
Stanley:

The Marx Brothers - perfect holiday fare. "whatever it is, I'm against it"
Avatar 7:36am
Sem Chumbo:

@Brian: Grierson is revered in Canadian arts and letters circles, really had very much to do with the development of our National Film Board of Canada. Like a god to us.
@Stanley:yes, ankled quite a bit over there, even had a few rounds of golf in your part of the word, home of the hardest greens known to man. The breakfasts became increasing interesting, least for the unvarying presentation and the steady and high dosages of pure animal fats.
  7:37am
Stanley:

This message board is the only social media I use. And I even struggle with this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am
Brian in UK:

Stanley is this social media or communcating. Lawks. I had a conversation with my wife the other day. My children talk to me. Am I doing something wrong?

Sem Grierson was special.
  7:42am
Stanley:

Sem-ah, Mrs Tweedie's Abide-a-Wee bed and breakfast. Know it well. I've played some of those courses, complete with horizontal rain!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am
Brian in UK:

Laver bread, bacon & fried eggs. Yum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46am
Brian in UK:

I don't know what I want but I want it now. Off, dear.
  7:48am
Stanley:

I get 500 mins and unlimited texts on my 'deal'. Last month I had 437 mins left and I sent 5 texts. Pathetic or what?
  7:50am
Stanley:

Brian-once I've eaten something, I don't want to see it again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04am
Brian in UK:

Time for a beverage. Take it easy folks.
Avatar 8:05am
Sem Chumbo:

Se ya, sometime, Brian. Keep the animal fats close, and the family closer.
  8:06am
Stanley:

Enjoy, Brian. I'm off too in search of an episode of Columbo. Thanks Dave. See you later everyone
Avatar 8:07am
Dave Bombay:

Good luck out there guys!
Avatar 8:22am
Sem Chumbo:

I was jonesing for some boss 45 action, and here it is.
You read minds, High Fez of the Knucklehead cult?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23am
common:

good day!
Avatar 8:24am
Dave Bombay:

@sem - yep!
@ Common - good day to you!
Avatar 8:24am
Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, common!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39am
common:

hey there, sem!
Avatar 8:54am
Sem Chumbo:

I dunno, Honey B-B on the radio might be just fine, speaking with the aid of Auto-TuneĀ®, and hosting an all Vovoid show, played at 16.5 rpm.
But I'd still rather be a knucklehead than a booboo. Have a fun time finding the heart of Friday night, DB. Later.
Avatar 9:18am

See you next week/year guys!
