Avatar 12:04pm northguineahills:

Lost ya, back to the GTDS hits...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Charlie:

Hey Out There, NGH!
  12:08pm Laura L:

So... there was a day when doing laundry just naturally involved square doors with rounded corners.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm Charlie:

The square doors with rounded corners made the clothes *cleaner* Laura L ;)
  12:14pm Listening Out There:

Laundry time also required a decanter of something a bit pleasanter, looks like. Ah, those were the days...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Brian in UK:

Hello Charlie. Toploader.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Charlie:

Hello UK Brian!
  12:18pm Laura L:

And those were the days when a man could buy his wife a home appliance for Xmas. The romance of small and large home appliances is not to be underrated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Brian in UK:

The Kelvinator - an Impossible Story of a Rogue 'Fridge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm listener james from westwood:

"Propeller" would have fit nicely into a Welcome to Night Vale episode as the weather segment.
  12:21pm Listening Out There:

I've read that Charles Manson auditioned to be a Monkee. Think how things would be different if it worked out...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Brian in UK:

@Laura L my wife begged me for a new iron this Christmas. My ironing is just not up to scratch.
Avatar 12:22pm Carmichael:

We had a Norge. And I have a Maytag washer and dryer that have been chugging along nicely for almost 30 years.

Now I probably put the curse of Mobutu on them both ...
  12:24pm Mike:

I _was_ shopping online! earlier... but I didn't buy anything, honest...
Avatar 12:24pm northguineahills:

Not buying anything except ingredients for a holiday meal.
Avatar 12:25pm Parq:

I'm buying lunch. From a chain. It's a local chain, if that makes it any better.
Avatar 12:25pm Michael:

Not a buyer; I'm a seller!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm listener james from westwood:

I still have a modular stereo from 22 Christmases ago. Still works fine. Pulled in many an FMU program w/ the right antenna. Plus it has a double tape deck. Rara avis.
ngh: This is a winning plan.
Avatar 12:26pm Parq:

Ted Baron is lovely too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Charlie! I just got to the office and can tune-in when you're actually broadcasting, and not via archives! And what do I hear, but a track off one of my fav comps: Product Music! Yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Brian in UK:

I am watching a motorcycle on E**y.

james never get rid of your tape deck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm listener james from westwood:

I have to imagine this is the same recoding session as the Hinky Dinky Supermart theme one. Dig it!!
  12:28pm 67tele:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Charlie:

Hiya Parq, Wendy, Bob, Mike, Tele -- glad to shop with you. Wendy -- please order me some nice cheese!
Avatar 12:31pm Carmichael:

Ah, no wonder this sounds a lot like Showroom Dummies. Cuz it is!
  12:32pm Mike:

you are showroom dummy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm listener james from westwood:

PSB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm listener james from westwood:

Wore this tape down to the bare plastic in my college Walkman, I did.
Avatar 12:37pm Parq:

Hi, Miss Wendy. I am absolutely giddy over your animated profile pic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm listener james from westwood:

Charlie, your mission, should you choose to accept it: Never reach the final groove.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Charlie:

We *are* showroom dummies! And I will never reach the final groove. I may, however, one day reach the vinyl resting place (the naugahyde chair).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Charlie, I wouldn't order any other kind of cheese for you. Only the nicest.
Parq, it's from the trailer for "Sex And Broadcasting"! Where's my SAG card?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm listener james from westwood:

I was stunned to see myself in S&B the Love Room while Ken was broadcasting during the Marathon. I'm glad I shaved that day.

  1:00pm Listening Out There:

Thanks, Brian. Did not know that. Been wondering what's up with Mose lately. He's getting up there in age...Wikipedia says 87...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Charlie:

Brooklyn! If it's still there. I think it's gone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Charlie:

singalong:
I was in this prematurely air-conditioned supermarket
and there were all these aisles
and there were all these bathing caps that you could buy
which had these kind of Fourth of July plumes on them
they were red and yellow and blue
I wasn't tempted to buy one
but I was reminded of the fact that I had been avoiding
the beach.
Avatar 1:09pm northguineahills:

Einstein on the Beach!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm listener james from westwood:

I'll salute that Flagg!
Avatar 1:19pm Parq:

Fannie Flagg was an early celeb crush. I note she is 70. I also note her real name is Patrica Neal. Have some coffee in her honor.
Avatar 1:20pm northguineahills:

I remember Pantry Pride!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Uncle Michael:

Put savings in your shopping cart!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Wendy del Formaggio:

The "you you you" from "Pantry Pride" reminds me of T. Valentine's missive to Lucille, the lesbi-un. "You you you!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm listener james from westwood:

Holy crap, Mesolithic Breckman!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Wendy del Formaggio:

"Abominable Snowman In The Market", anyone?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Oh, Andy Breckman! His songs are so silly and wonderful.
Avatar 1:24pm Parq:

"How I envy you."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Uncle Michael:

I've never heard an Andy Breckman song before.
  1:26pm trans~ally:

Don't get killed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm listener james from westwood:

Don McLean toured briefly with Andy. (I hear McLean's an asshole.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Jeff Golick:

For some reason, I'm glad to learn that, @ljfw, as it only confirms and reinforces my lifelong hatred for McLean.

Also: hi.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm listener james from westwood:

Jeff, have you read Andy's story of touring w/ Don? wfmu.org...
Avatar 1:31pm northguineahills:

I heard the 7SD episode where Andy described Don McLean, it was hilarious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm Stanley:

Charlie greets.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm listener james from westwood:

Just realizes: Religion + sales = "Bob" Dobbs. Are we sure this is Art Motley?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm listener james from westwood:

Just googled Motley. Looks like an interesting character.
Any chance Randy Newman wrote this Charles cut? Feels nicely Newmanish.

Avatar 1:53pm βrian:
