Avatar 1:18pm purpleknif:

Rex is on and all's well!
  1:20pm P-90:

Oh this makes me salivate for a crawfish po' boy.
Avatar 1:31pm Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Rex, and lesser fools elsewhere in Paradise.
  1:34pm SeanG:

Pass the Biscuits!
Avatar 1:35pm Sem Chumbo:

That's a helluva bass Mel's playing there.
  1:39pm Mark Dillman:

"Whirlybirds". Now that was an awesome show. Crime fighting helicopters. I swear, they pulled generic cops and robbers and western scripts out of the file cabinet and scratched out "police car" or "horse" and scribbled in "helicopter". Good ol' Chuck & P. T. Awaiting the DVD box set.
Avatar 1:42pm Sem Chumbo:

@fred: got your ears on?
  1:43pm ?:

hey baby
Avatar 🌮 Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Does Mel Welles look a little like John Hodgman, or is it just me?
  1:46pm ?:

lol this is the best there is lol
Avatar 🌮 Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Artie Haywire:

It's good to have a Rock and Roll gal.
Avatar 1:52pm kyle a.:

Agreed, @KenFromHydePark - John Hodgman with maybe a dash of rotund, latter day Acker Bilk.
Avatar 1:53pm kyle a.:

Lets learn some more about this Rex cult. My membership is nearly up in my current secret society.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm fred:

@Sem: now, yes. I had to dispatch some laundry and ironing, but that's done
Avatar 🌮 Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Did Dave The Spazz play Bobby Mitchell on his sax program the other day?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm coelacanth:

aloha,Rex, and wrecked.
Avatar 2:11pm Sem Chumbo:

@fred:please check my personal statement.
Avatar 2:12pm Reeshard:

I already belong to a BBQ secret cult, am hoping there aren't conflicts of interest with joining the Rex cult…Meanwhile, this year's big Doo-Dah Parade in Pasadena today...
Avatar 2:12pm Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, coel. Good to see ya.
  2:13pm Monstruo:

Me bad boy ---me steal cookie
  2:17pm Monstruo:

HEY...that beat captain kangaroo !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm fred:

@Sem: Many, many thanks. Really, I'm so grateful. There are so many books out there, and as an English language reader in a French speaking country, trial and error gets real expensive. Thanks again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm coelacanth:

Heyhey Sem C!

...oh no,you can see me?
  2:24pm Toddophonic:

Chris Cerf..in the immortal words of the Go Go Gophers: oogum boogum you um genius!
Avatar 2:26pm Sem Chumbo:

OK, fred!
Avatar 2:28pm Sem Chumbo:

Had a look at the Abbey Bookstore site, lucky you! Maybe like P-90, you can read a chapter of a great read during each visit, and save your dough for shows:-P
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Fuzzy:

"They play nothing but rotten junk on that program" --

Fred Gwynne? Elliott Gould?
Avatar 2:31pm kyle a.:

Fred Gwynne!
Avatar 2:31pm Sem Chumbo:

Lawrence Welk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Fuzzy:

@kyle: That was my first guess -- thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm fred:

@Sem: This bookshop is dear to me, I only use Amazon to get the details on a book then order through it, even though it's way more expensive. Unless the owner refuses to order it, he can do that, I love it. If you saw the pics, what may not be obvious is that there is coffee and tea hidden between these piles of books. Best place in the city!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm coelacanth:

Sem i just looked at your book list. We may have very different taste in writers,or maybe i have much catching up to do. I do like Cormac McCarthy -a lot; but to the same degree disliked "the road". Most of these authors i've never heard of at all!
I'd like to read "moby dick" but i may not live long enough; especially if i must read "the old testament" first!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm fred:

@coelacanth: I had given Sem a list of authors I like and dislike, so this list was biased. Though Faulkner's presence is a hint I should give him yet another try
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm coelacanth:

hi fred....so it excludes your"likes",so not to be redundant?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm coelacanth:

Thank you Rex!
