Zombie riff is precisely the Pretty Vacant riff. Spooky.

Bob Wilkens was my favorite TV horror host back in 1973 when I lived in S.F. I met him at a convention in California years later, and I got to thank him for his great show. I have his autograph on an 8x10 glossy, that I have framed and on display.

Juke Joint Jonny:
Rule one for Hallowe'en novelty songs: Song should clock in under 2 and half minutes. Rule two: Don't take any more time to write song than it takes to play.
Sat. 10/25/14 1:35pm
@Juke Joint Jonny: I heartily endorse these rules

My horror host was Philly's Dr. Shock - who sadly died at 42 years old and the height of his popularity. He recorded a few songs like "Let There Be Fright", "The Bloody" & "Eat Your Heart Out Baby".
Hey M.T. Graves! Florida Horror host and great host!
Thanks Rex, for the great show. Any chance for "Ghoulardi Surf" or "Chilly Billy's Vamp" or "Sivad Buries Rock and Roll" or upstate NY's host's "The Chiller"?
"There's monsters in the graveyard... they seem to be having some kind of a bash... or a mash..."

Fondly recalling the great Bob Wilkins.
Sat. 10/25/14 2:00pm
Speaking of horror hosts, as another year goes by and Zacherle(y) still walks amongst us, I'm slowly realizing that his ghoul schtick may not be schtick after all.
Sat. 10/25/14 2:05pm
Anybody for a zombie cucumber sandwich?

THE ZOMBIE’S CUCUMBER. The genus Brugmansia is a shrub with elegant, trumpet-like flowers and common all around South America. It might also erase your memories and destroy your free will, reducing you to a helpless flesh-slave in thrall to a voodoo priest. This flowering plant contain large amounts of the alkaloid scopolamine, known to some as “truth serum” for its ability to lessen inhibitions. In heavier dosages, products of this plant can cause delirium and hallucinations so powerful they can convince someone that they have died and come back to life as a mindless slave—the foundation of the zombie myth.

Well, today's Saturday, "Samedi" in French, as the famous Baron
Sat. 10/25/14 2:23pm
According to Wikipedia, Baron Samedi "is noted for disruption, obscenity, debauchery, and having a particular fondness for tobacco and rum". No wonder Fool's Paradise runs on Saturdays.

Doug Dickens with The Fireballs sound a heck of a lot like Bruce Joyner and the Unknowns. Or is it the other way round? Either way, cool song.
